General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
This is how I remember this fact, I saw someone posted a pic of Murderface when she was exposed.
I gotta go back in the thread a bit to see the photos of amelia. I already knew of senzawa for a while so don't really care t see her, but is there a photo of her out? It's funny to me cos senzawa was always drunk lol.

Idk, people were saying Amelia isn't white but she looked white to me, I have no idea what Senzawa looks like but I know she was pretty much always drunk or high in shit she posted on youtube

Personally I couldn't care less what the Y-tubers do in their private lives. I just find the fan reaction absolutely fascinating and hilarious. Also the business model seems to be a license for Cover to print money. Well and Google with their share of any superchat.

The thing I have to acknowledge from the more "enraged" fanbase is that there is a certain code of conduct that you should adhere to. You have to show a certain form of behavior when you are working on a construction site and then again a different form of behavior when you are working for a law firm, at least to your clients. The same applies to being a Y-tuber. If you put yourself in such a field, you have to be careful about a few things. Like acknowledging a boyfriend and so on. It is after all an illusion and a form of escapism.

In popular evolutionary psychology books you often find the argument that one mating strategy for male members of our species is to showcase the ability to put food on the table. To show that you are a good provider. Having a child is a huge investment so males that show the ability to get resources and the willingness to spend these resources on the female are more attractive. And I can't help but think about this argument whenever I see a high superchat. I rarely see people dropping that amount of money to nearly complete strangers in others scenarios in the real world. In other words: It's not normal behavior, it's not healthy behavior.

So in my view it's like applying for a job, where you KNOW that the company will go though your social media accounts and then having some really embarrassing shit on said accounts. It is just not the smartest move. It is not necessary right, but that is the environment they are getting into an they should know what to expect. If the illusion is destroyed for people that have put huge amounts of money into a Y-Tuber, do you expect a healthy, rational response, when their previous behavior was clearly not healthy? Of course not.

Just take a look at the question attachment, I am not 100 percent sure that this one is complete. That stuff was last used a year ago. That stuff should have been gone and wiped out before she started putting herself into that kind of environment. In the questions she answers this:

From there on people found her boyfriends twitter account: https://archive.md/e6He3
And her boyfriends twitch account: https://www.twitch.tv/veryneet (Can't archive right now)

Which then lead to videos outtakes such as these:

With that you have all the ingredients of a meltdown with a certain group within the fans.

If they tried just changing the voice but keep the same model they'll probably run into similar backlash to when Kizuna Ai started doing videos with a different voice without acknowledging it. I stopped watching her around that time but I think they eventually had to split the new voiced Kizuna Ai into a different Kizuna because their comment section was just getting flooded.
Yeah, they eventually gave them different hair ornaments and started calling them ”Love-chan” and “Ai-Pii”. I did keep watching because I really liked Love‘s actress, but the backlash started getting so bad that people started refusing to even subtitle videos that didn’t feature original Kizuna.

There were all sorts of conspiracy theories and people digging into which seiyuu was actually playing Kizuna Ai and tracking down tweets where she had expressed frustration and were like “see, they’re trying to force her out and use these 2 to replace her!!!!” And every single video of the two were flooded with people being “where’s real Kizuna?” and stuff.

And then there were those of us who were like “look, the fiction is that they’re all Kizuna, they’re sister-clones, stop breaking the kayfabe, fuckers.” Eventually, they did split them into their own channel called Love-pii.

Ironically, that split is when I basically stopped watching. Between her going to a mostly streaming format and having the actress have to break kayfabe to get everything back under control, it killed a lot of what I enjoyed about the whole thing.

Only recently did I see the irony of people making fun of that dumb reality TV show about attractive people being paid to pretend to not have sex, only to realize that was the entire premise of idol culture.

As far as the HoloEN girls go, I find myself enjoying Gura and Ina the most. I haven't seen much from Kiara but from what I have seen, I liked it even if she sucks at Mario. Haven't seen a lot from Mori, she isn't bad, but I feel like she still hasn't adjusted? Or maybe she works the "awkward idol" gimmick a bit too well.

Amelia... wow I don't know, between all the weirdos apparently flocking to her channel, the loserbait notification showing up, the Amelewd tag announcement just in time for miners to find she has a boyfriend... it's like she wants to be the "problematic" one.

But it doesn't feel genuine, like Marine or Coco.🤔

For me Ina is the one I like the most, don't understand the hype around Gura, though I love her horror streams.

Inas drawing streams are just chill to listen too, got whiplash when she streamed at the same time as the riots started in louisville, and I went back and forth between streams, and the riot thread.

I liked it even if she sucks at Mario.

The fun part of her streams is watching her designer trolling her on chat, Huke has created more memes that anyone else

It was a nothing burger for 4chan, they expected that some retards went and kill themselves or raided Amelia stream yesterday but what i saw was her sucking ass in Mario Odyssey throwing F bombs

I like that she looks very cool and composed but like to flex her arts skills against her fellow holomyth, she also flexed to Marine by getting best scores in portraits in passpartout, she tried to do the symbols of her myth partners but the game penalize you for being simplistic, Marine tried to poke into that theory and made a Pikachu that sold by next to nothing when she played it

the hype around Gura, though I love her horror streams.

She is gaining the reputation of being a english speaking pekora without the laugh, people watch her horror streams because she trend to get overconfident while discovering mechanics only to her getting wrecked after, point in case

There was one guy who just said "boyfriend?" in chat and it was buried quickly.

I don’t watch horror streams because as I’ve said elsewhere I’m a total coward, but her TABS stream was really fun, and she seems to be pretty clever. Maybe the horror streams are different, but I don’t get the Pekora so much. I feel like she’s more like Shion or Okayu.

Ha. If that's true, I find it somehow hilarious that they will campaign against the buxom dragon but they fear the shark loli.

But if they're really afraid of pissing off the EN community, they should probably consider how popular Coco is among them too.
Yeah, a lot of EN people are probably going to be there when Coco returns.
