Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

  • Suicide Girl model and America's Next Top Model contestant have it, spread on Tumblr, that's why.

Oh, a Fire Emblem fan. Why am I so incredibly unsurprised? There is nothing that those guys love to do more than bitch about ~impractical~ outfits.

Camilla, the purple-haired girl, is especially poorly received on Tumblr. Someone called her a blow-up doll because of her proportions. There's nothing that site does better than unintentional slut-shaming.

EDIT: this article contains the sentence "She is wielding a weapon, but how can she use it effectively with her garters threatening to snap under the slightest amount of exertion?" nice linking fighting ability to amount of apparel mate

edit again: good old patricia hernandez

Though Escher Girls and Bikini Battle Armor Damage have huge issues if you body shame the females. So no fat jokes, saying a woman looks like slut or a man, has no figure or a boy's body, saying that there's a generic body type (athletic builds aren't all alike) etc. I got in trouble once for joking that an air-headed looking, big boobed woman "traded her brains in for bigger tits".

Remember when I said that I was planning to do a joke redesign that would be subtle jab a SJW redesigners and would purposely make the character plainer and less appealing. Just to see who would follow it. This is just the dummy sketch (I know one are is longer than the other; I'll fix that) that will be done by "Blossom Lee". For your consideration.

"I know that Shantae has grown a fanbase, but times change and why can't the character grow with it? She does not need to be an impractical stereotype who relies on skimpy attire that doesn't even fit in with tradition belly dancing. So I created a more practical and modest outfit that would have some aspects of her culture in it. I made her outfit beige to help her stand out amongst the colorful setting. And really, what good does belly dancing really do in battle? That is why she is a war mage who makes hand gestures to make herself tiny, fly, be super-strong or create a bubble to help her swim. For too long, POC have been portrayed as animals or even turned into them so that's why I got rid of it. She should be a role-model, not some object of the male gaze."-Blossom Lee

I wouldn't be surprised if some random SJW looked at that and used the design as a basis of his/her own re-design unironically.

Holy shit, I did not intend to bring up Fire Emblem in every other post here, but some new Fire Emblem: If characters got announced today, and Tumblr is deliciously buttmad. It's marvelous.

Here's the new Axe Knight, Charlotte.

Apparently, she's a tough fighter who acts cute in an attempt to take control of men. You'd think that Tumblr would fall all over this, right? Well, some people do, but more than a few exceptional individuals are taking umbrage to her design.

Slut shaming in the name of Feminism!
But she looks pretty cute.

But they're okay with shitty redraws and acting like a female character showing skin is a sin.

Unintentional slut shaming for the greater good is funny to me because they act it's some crime against women when some women are okay with it, some women don't care or some women might even...*GASP* love chars like Camilla.

It also exposes how contradictory much of this radical behavior really is. They claim to protect all women but the moment they decide you're doing something "wrong" or dressing "problematic" they're collectively done with you. It's a lot like what Gensdupays said above. They are trying to remove any links that society has established between revealing dress and integrity of character, but once a fictional entity wears revealing clothes, they're called blow-up dolls (among other similar terms) and their personality is tossed to the wayside. Never mind that this particular case is about a game that hasn't even come out yet.

I absolutely adore Camilla btw

Have you noticed how men usually don't get as upset over these things? There aren't very many men (that I know of) who complain about a girl-bait character like Gambit, Sydney (Vagrant Story) or Nightwing making them feel uncomfortable when they're not wearing shirts or have their asses focused on. If they do, they let it go after a while. Conan the Barbarian's armor isn't "problamatic", there's no complaints about handsome superheroes remaining scar-free and not having smashed-up faces, they don't talk about muscle guys giving a poisonous, false standard of beauty. Some of it is due to power fantasy, but men seem less intimidated about this.

This is in part due to a wealth of variety in terms of male rolemodels. For every spiderman there is generally a Homer Simpson. A schluby average looking guy with a hot wife who's a little dim but does his best to do right by people and for whom things generally work out ok (better describes early seasons of the simpsons than later seasons admittedly). A lot of sitcoms tend to include at least one "unpleasant/unattractive guy sleeps his way through scores of women effortlessly but can't actually keep a relationship going because he's unpleasant and unattractive" trope character while failing to take into account that this guy is somehow scoring these dates in the first place. Presumably because there will always be someone desperate enough to hit him up for a quickie I guess.

The baseline creed of SJA is that there should be more female peter griffons and homer simpsons. Large, flawed, occasionally unpleasant women who still get to sleep with attractive guys, or bone their way through their commitment issues. The rational ideology is "There should be more female peter griffons ALONG SIDE curvy conventionally attractive heroines." The extreme ideology is "Female peter griffon should REPLACE conventionally attractive super heroines."

Though it is also worth noting that there's not really an uproar over hunky male heroes because they figure if guys had a huge problem with that they would say something about it themselves. Silence is generally seen as acceptance until someone starts saying otherwise. It's a sort of "I'm trying to make things better for my crowd, if you have a problem in your crowd you need to speak on it yourself not get us to do all your heavy lifting."

The Peach one is the worst because God forbid a girl be feminine and cute. Also it shows more skin lolol
Apologies, friends...But!
My classic 1970s cartoonist sensibilities are rustled with sperg!

How freaking dare these goddarn crumbs redraw the great Frank Thorne's Red Sonja?
Don't these critters know she is based on the amazing 1970s female comic artist Wendy Pini?

Of course, cretin SJW's never check the facts before they get high and mighty...

"By Crom! These sacks of dick-grease must pay!"
