I don't blame McConnell for delaying the confirmation. He wants as many Republican Senators participating in the hearings as possible, which will maximize Barrett's chances of being confirmed. Also, we don't know for sure if Trump was ever taking oxygen. His doctors outright said he is not on oxygen and was not on it when he got to the hospital. Even if he was on oxygen, "was" is the key word here. Right now, he is not on it.

Not necessarily your fault but that statistic is misleading, especially the 65+ bracket. People who are 65-75 - Trump's at the latter end of that age - are far less likely to die than someone who is above 80. Statistically speaking, he has a 97% chance of survival.

True, but given how badly the past five months have been followed by Trump getting the virus, I'm honestly a bit worried to say the least. Keep in mind, I've been calling out the doomers from the get-go, but even I'm nervous as fuck right now.

Hoping the president can make a full recovery and Barrett can get confirmed before the election. The fact that the Senate's dragging their ass and delaying it further is not giving me confidence. Unless McConnell is planning a quick confirmation just before the election to really blackpill the left and wants to make sure at least a few RINO's won't cuck out, I don't know why he went and delayed it to the 24th of October.

The virus more or less could cost Trump the election even if he does recover. The only way I can see this going in his favor is if he recovers quickly enough to be out and about in the last week of October and gets ACB on the court since that will boost morale.

Alternately, we could see an eerie repeat of 2016 where the Democrats don't show up because they think Biden has it in the bag because of COVID-19 or that Trump's going to die anyway and Pence will be easier to corral since he's a fundie relic. I'm not counting on that to happen given how severe TDS is, but at the same time Biden is a dud and the DNC has a bad habit of snatching a major defeat from the jaws of victory at the last possible second.

I've thought about all of this and your concerns aren't unfounded, but think of it like this.

The DNC bigwigs like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi might have sent best wishes to him, but they're also politicians and no doubt do they also want Trump dead. It's just that they are playing a smart move and not expressing what they want to happen. The media, which the DNC has a stranglehold on, is their watch dog that are peddling out the narrative that they believe in. Namely, Trump must die or be so compromised from the coronavirus that he cannot continue to serve in office. This is there hope that Trump will finally show an undeniable weakness that it makes Biden looks strong in comparison. Of course, Twitter banning speech saying "TRUMP MUST DIE!" is meant to veil their true intentions. The germnalists didn't change their repulsive views of him and anyone who dares support him, they're just using conspiracy theory about his illness to express what they want to happen.

Unfortunately for them, things so far haven't gone their way. Upon learn Hick had COVID-19, Trump got he and his wife tested, which came out positive. Immediately, he proceeded with treatment, walking to the helicopter in the Walter Reed Military Medical Center and doing everything he can to get better. He's taking the world's best treatment and despite claims that he is going to die very soon, he's still shitposting on Twitter and has enough energy to speak to the American public for four minutes on Twitter. Given the choice to lock himself in his bedroom, he instead chooses to engage with the public and lead the world's most powerful nation. That signals strength even in lieu of a disease that has been touted as the second coming of the 14th century Black Plague. Not to mention the sympathy bump he is receiving. Even if only a fraction of that turns into votes, that could be enough to swing crucial states into his favor come Election Day.

Trump's handling of his own struggle with COVID-19 will be one of the most consequential battles he has ever faced. He knows he has to get well right away because if he gets severely ill, he might not be able to get out of the hospital before the election. What he is doing in front of the entire world is proving that if an overweight seventy-four year old man can beat the virus, then we must reopen and not be afraid of any possible pandemic locking us down for the future (archive). If he return to the White House in two weeks seemingly unchanged, it would once and for all destroy the narrative that Trump is not taking the virus seriously and that we must lock down if anything inconvenient comes up. Along with a possible Barrett confirmation before the end of October and it might be the best thing we could ask for. I believe that McConnell knows what he is doing when it comes to the delay. Should he play his cards right, this might be the best news for his election campaign he could have asked for.

Trump is on the cusp of a brilliant political move. I understand the concerns, I really do, but for now, I'm feeling pretty good about all this. We just have to let this all play out and of course laugh at all of the fake news that will be coming out in the next couple of weeks.

They built their entire campaign on "fuck Donald Trump". If Donald Trump dies, they lost their single biggest draw and because the sitting president died a few weeks before the election, they won't have enough time to run anything like "he's gonna send every LGBTQIAP++ to the electric chair" against Pence (nor will it be a focus because the sitting president is fucking dead). In the first few pages of this thread, I was lurking quite a bit and noticing lots of discussion of muh RGB and the double standards of people posting Crab Rave memes over her death vs. outrage over jokes over the GEOTUS getting the chink flu. Well, here's what I think: the Ruth Ginsberg discussion had a lot of people joking about her death, because the media was mourning her loss, social media was panicking like a 27-year old rock star just died, and Dems were thoroughly blackpilled. Hence, we Kiwis had a good laugh letting the crab memes flow as the lolcows wallowed in shame. With Trump, however, he's someone the media has been painting as a literal fascist dictator for years, so making fun of his sickness on The Farms would just be redundant...and basically something only a Reddit neckbeard would do in this situation. Not to mention, Trump didn't fucking die unlike Ruth Ginsberg.

Now, as for the election and Trump's coof...

I think it's interesting to see how the media is reacting to Trump's misfortune vs. RGB's, and how his followers are reacting vs. how the Dems did when Kike Grandma died a few weeks ago. Ruth Ginsberg dies and the left collectively weeps in sorrow as if the planet is about to end. Trump gets mildly sick with a lung infection, and his supporters gather in solidarity to pray for his support, and in some extreme cases show up outside the hospital to cheer him on while waving American flags.
