Every goddamn time, and it's obvious none of these people have learned anything about their glorious nordic utopias. Norway's just a whiter, slightly less insular version of Qatar, and Sweden/Denmark at their most socialist were corporatist hellholes that relied on public monopolies a la Comcast/PG&E for everything, which is why the populace liberalized and moved economically right after their socialist models collapsed around the mid 70's.

People like June live in a completely different reality from the average American and the average Kiwi. It's easy to forget because after a while your mind is trained to see through it, but the mainstream media and social media is full to the brim of insane propaganda. It's a realm of unapologetic lies, preposterous spins and steaming hot takes that don't try to approximate truth, but aim to create their own.
If you unironically believe the things MSM and social media say, you would believe America is a dystopian hellhole run by a criminal white supremacist russian agent who's hell bent on crushing every single minority group under his fascist heel and destroying the country with glee, having murdered 200,000. If you believe the garbage they spew, you unironically believe that the only way to hold a right-wing position is to be stupid or evil, and that anyone on the right is a few steps away from carving a swastika into their arm and performing a mass shooting. If you take the things they say seriously, you believe that it's a moral crusade to bring everyone to the left and rescue them from sin. If you listen to them, you are trained to be in hysterics at least once a week over the latest disaster.
If you believe all the nonsense of the MSM and social media, plus you're approaching the Wall as a single woman who's income is in jeopardy based on their duplicitous nature and beliefs, it's easy to see how somebody would be completely miserable, and be so trapped in their paradigm they can't conceive of happiness.
I'm not a big fan of his, but Alex Jones had it right when he said there's a battle for your mind. An Infowar. June is a serious casualty of that war. She's not the only one. Many such cases. Sad!
