Even worse wont obsessive sanitation make only the most resistant strains of covid-19 survive? The media actually had a panic a while back about "super bugs" But they dont talk about that now. Long term speaking if people really do lockdown for long enough wont they lose immunity after 2 years?

totally agree. for what it's worth, I can think of at least half a dozen people in my social and work circle who have dropped a shitload of weight while off work. A couple weren't trying at first, but the lack of fast food and cakes and "wickle treatie weaties" at work kick started it, and they built upon that. Others saw the photos of "young and healthy" people dying of it, put two and two together, and decided to lose weight. And others have seen family who were fat die of it, and taken that as a real kick up the butt to start changing their habits. And good for them, really.
getting fat is one thing. Choosing to stay fat and expecting the world to grind to a halt because your shitty choices put you more at risk is the epitome of selfishness.

I hope this doesn't sound condescending but that sounds like projection so I sincerely hope you're doing alright man and you get better if not, I do realise stuff's pretty bad right now and I don't mean to discount that. My reasoning is literally just that God forbids it.

No. Soap and alcohol aren't something that can easily be adapted to in any reasonable timescale, by either virus or bacteria. Soap especially, as it mechanically destroys the lipid membranes of both, which is why it's such an effective sanitiser. Superbugs, such as MRSA, are the result of overuse of antibiotics, which act against particular biological components of the cell, and to which defences can be evolved by mutating the components that those antibiotics function on.
A virus evolving a resistance to soap, in any human timescale, would be like us evolving a resistance to bullets. It ain't happening.

Man I really wish my local news had a Youtube channel or something, I don't have a DVR (or whatever those tv recorders are called) either but anyway they really fucking pay these people to say the craziest shit.
Trying to eat dinner with my family and the news is airing a segment on how "speaking loudly may spread Covid-19". I've seen some random articles here and there but didn't expect it to be shown on TV where all the normies watch that over reading the news. And of course they're reading the script in their loud newspeaking voice, because only they can talk loud I guess?
Like we get it you want to control the way we speak, where we are at all times, and how we think at all times, no need to make it that blatant.
I just wanna eat dinner man.

Can't remember if I already posted about it, but a few "experts" around my area were trying to recommend that to minimize infection high school and college students should rank their friends, myspace style, then cut contact with all but the top 5 or so.

Wow. That's not at all unhealthy and won't fuck up a lot of people in the long term, right? I've seen a couple I know who work in STEM, in all fairness, spending the last few months losing it completely over everything, being completely and utterly histrionic over this all, but back when it started being a thing, they were the first to REEE "racism!!" at any proposal to close borders. It's just jarring to me, that we're being told on the one hand, you can still go on vacation, both domestically and internationally, but if you see anyone outside your household or "support bubble" then you are LITERALLY MURDERING GRANDMA YOU SELFISH PIECE OF SHIT!!!! How it can be safe to cross international borders for a vacation, but not safe to see a friend, seems a touch contradictory to me.

My (((mayor))) used the speaking loudly is bad bs to ban loud music and dancing. Not kidding, yes I'm living out my fantasy of being in Footloose but without Kevin Bacon. Also ordering while standing at the bar is forbidden, but not if you are sitting (only the higher end bars are obeying this latest "science based" crazy).
October feels like we've turned a corner, and more ppl are just outright ignoring the masks and social distancing rules. Our fat 74 year old president recovering in 2 days is helping, can't ignore that! Plus churches are now in open defiance of the limits on indoor gatherings.
The rest of Alaska is basically back to normal with a few exceptions. Unfortunately I live in the blue city of Anchorage, fuck me right? Won't be making that mistake ever again, lease is up in under 6 months thank god.

A few places tried banning alcohol, and other things that give people some small amount of comfort in trying times, because apparently getting drunk in your own home spreads the shanghai shits to your entire neighbourhood, I guess. Anyone who has seen the protesters outside clinics in NI that refer women to mainland UK for abortions will know, the Irish - on both sides of the border - know how to protest. I'd already seen this video, but it is well worth a watch and is interesting.
Edited to sat, having watched it again: It is well worth noting what he covers about the UN and the WHO and their "Great Reset" as well as the use of the phrace "build Back Better" among Biden, the Conservative Party in the UK, and among the aforementioned bodies above. After hearing people rebuff fans of David Icke et.al who have said the Great Reset is coming for a long time, to finally see this phrase being used so openly is more than a touch disconcerting I think.

Not sure what is going on in other countries but banks in the UK are experiencing record numbers of customers going into credit for the first time in many, many, years since the virus started.
We are not talking big amounts of credit , but it all adds up to a fucking lot over many millions of customers and several high street banks.
More people than normal have cleared loans and there is less defaulting going on too. There have been bits in the news , but I have been getting the same info from friends in banking.
Lots of money saved not commuting, people buying more food in bulk to store, small businesses getting 10k handouts, less eating out/takeaway etc are causing this.
It could all be very temporary and a flash in the pan , but once all these people start getting a taste for being in credit, and the benefits of being solvent, maybe a huge number of them will strive to retain it. Is this another function of the Great Reset?
