Remember, when Trump fucks up, Biden will easily outdo him and fuck up even more making Trump's mistake look absolutely miniscule in comparison.

Doomers are pretty funny, especially since they don't even bother to actually take a look at what's actually going on. You can give them all the evidence that Trump is gonna win this election pretty handily, and they'll still say that Trump is finished or isn't going to win.

They're content in being miserable so I don't really bother or engage with them.
I think Doomers just don't wanna get their hopes up and be let down. Sometimes I'm a doomer, and it's always in a spirit of "I hope I am wrong".

"Assume the worst and you'll never be disappointed". This outlook has never failed me.

Beyond that there is not a single president who ran for president for more than two times and won. The only president who ran more than 3 times and won was FDR but that was before term limits.
You could count Grover Cleveland for the more than two times. He ran in 1884 and won. Ran again in 1888 and lost to Benjamin Harrison. Ran again in 1892 and won the first and still only nonconsecutive second term.

Have you taken the "watch to see if he shits himself" demographic into account?
There were times when I tuned into a Biden event 15 minutes late and completely missed him speaking.

You know this is a random thought or question but I really don't get why a presidential candidate would choose a VP who did extremely poorly in the primaries they won from?
Conventional wisdom is that you pick a VP whose strengths cover your weaknesses, or who can deliver a state you need. The weaknesses that lost them the primary don't matter as much, since the ticket is riding on the strength of the guy who did win the primary.

Wouldn't it have been better for Biden to get a black lady who wasn't in the Democrat primaries that is reputable within the base and would work with him.
Find me such a unicorn.

The only options he had were some mayors and governors who had Covid baggage; some uninspiring Senators; and the national joke known as Stacy Abrams. (Plus Susan Rice, but her foreign policy experience turned to baggage after 4 years of Trump avoiding war.)

Here are some thoughts from the next generation. Pay close attention to the two minorities present. On that latter subject, @Panthera Rosea, remember our chat on black demographics and voting patterns? You can see the motions of it in the video.

Typical liberal college setting, but the enthusiasm gap is real; all of them, except the Asian fellow, support Biden, but all (including the Asian) of them think Trump is going to win.
The Asian kid seems to have more of a sense of humor about himself than the other kids. I noticed when describing what words they would use to describe the presidents, the libtards all used serious terms whether negatively or positively, but the Asian kid was a bit more creative. He used "outgoing" to describe Drumpf and "old" to describe Biden. Within this, you can clearly see that the Asian kid is a more joyful person and that's what I see with a lotta conservatives irl. They seem more mellow and more foolhardy, per se. It's the enthusiasm that does it.

We have all this technology and metrics to gauge enthusiasm, yet the best tool is still a pair of eyeballs.
The media wants you to deny the evidence of your eyes and ears, to steal from Orwell.

And my eyes and ears tell me the big difference between Biden's base and Trump's base: Trump's actually likes him.

I can understand not wanting to set expectations too high. I get it.

The real problem I have is when they become too pessimistic, because the worst case scenario usually doesn't happen as much as a doomer may think. I find it hard to be a doomer about Donald Trump's chances when you consider the fact that Donald Trump's rallies draw in lots of people, there's a lot of enthusiasm for that candidate, and the opponent is a dementia-addled Joe Biden. There's more factors to consider too, but the fact of the matter is that Donald Trump should be able to win the election.

Now, I personally prefer looking at things on the bright side, so I can be a bit biased and pretty optimistic. But I personally do not see how Trump can lose. This election would be a more different and difficult for Trump if say Bernie Sanders was the Democrat nominee (even though Donald Trump would have strategies to defeat different candidates, that I'm certain).

October Surprise.

I keep imagining who you think would win if you followed things closely but were hypothetically magically made ignorant of every poll. Total amnesia, never heard of even one.

Personally, I think that answer is kind of obvious.

Trump needs to get the message out about the poison pills in this bill.

This is the SECOND time Pelosi tried this shit with a COVID19 Stimulus bill.
This. So much this.

Since Trump got tested positive for COVID-19, he had to know that it was going to be at the forefront of the discussion until the election. The fact he's recovering paints him in a good light and gives him the opportunity to push the narrative that because he recovered that it is now time to reopen in its entirety. If Trump had just stopped at returning to the White House, we no doubt would be seeing floods of anonymous bullshit doublethink about how Trump is achsually at death's door while simultaneously faking his sickness all along for pity points. Plus I'm certain if Trump hadn't brought the bill he rejected to everyone's attention (granted he should have had better optics than to say "Democratic States"), the DNC would have. Now that all eyes are on him regarding his role in rejected the stimulus bill, he needs to hammer what Pelosi and her cronies tried to do to sabotage the election and the other poison pills that they plotted to push through.

Could be a nothingburger, likely is. I'll tune in, but I expect nothing.

Actually I think Trump would've had an easier time if the candidate was Bernie since I think even the DNC would try to sabotage Bernie since Bernie is not someone they would want and it didn't help Bernie is more openly weak than Biden.

Those are some good points. I was thinking that since Bernie Sanders was pretty good at attracting enthusiasm, especially from younger progressives who would be chomping at the bit to vote for Bernie (since elections really are decided on which candidate has the most enthusiasm), it could've made the election closer, but then I think about the moderate Democrats and the independents who would not be too enthused to vote for a far-leftie, so it'd probably cancel out the effect of progressives voting en masse for Bernie and nothing else.

Bernie is more openly weak than Biden.
Those two statements are basically contradictory though. The DNC's main problem with Bernie is they thought he would kill them downballot. So why on earth would they exacerbate their losses by sabotaging his campaign in the general?

And since they know he's so weak, what would be the downside if he did happen to win? They know Bernie isn't actually gonna fight for anything and they can always just blame Republicans and the filibuster for not passing progressive policies. At that point they might as well let it play out.

The issue with the stimulus bill is how Trump worded it with going against Democrat states. If he focused more on Pelosi not being able to comprimise or putting pork in the bill then it wouldn't have been issue.

Definitely not good, but I don't see any negative effect lasting for long though, we move too rapidly from one hot topic or outrage to another for any one thing to have a lasting effect, even if it's positive.

But yea, now the damage was done, Trump should definitely spell out what was wrong with the bill in a brief, simple way that everyone understands, hopefully in a way that redirects the rage to Nancy.

It's more that if somehow Bernie won with the young progressives that he'd easily lose and the DNC would likely focus down the ballot. Bernie's weakness is not just his cucking but that he has more open and clear medical issues than Biden does as Bernie is more frail physically with how he had to get heart surgery in the middle of his campaign. Bernie also would turn off everyone to the right of him with his close ties to communist governments.

But it's not really worth discussing fiction since Bernie would look like this by the time 2024 rolls around

The counter to the spergout about refusing Nancy's ransom demand -- point out they're perfectly capable of doing the right thing without giving Pelosi her pound of flesh.
Your wish is Drumpf's command.

21k currently watching the Martha McSally vs Mark Kelly debate (about to end).

I'm too lazy to go looking for other channels or compare with previous Senate debates. Neither one seem to be very good.

McSally just challenged Kelly to 3 additional debates, and Kelly declined.
