It doesn't matter. Their entire worldview relies on everybody instinctively and immediately knowing just how bad Trump is and having to be made aware of everything he does. They realize that every time they reply to him calling him out on a typo, or god forbid, quote tweet him, all they're doing is making sure his message reaches an infinitely higher number of people who wouldn't normally follow him, right?
Remember 2016? Trump got far more press and social media attention than any other candidate by a wide margin. Yes, most of it was extremely negative, but it still reached far more people than he could have reached just with his campaign ads and twitter account, and a lot of these people agreed enough with him to vote for him.
I'm not comparing Trump to a mass murderer, but it's a similar thing that happens when you see highly publicized criminal cases. Remember the Tsarnaev brothers? The two fuckwads who detonated pressure cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon in 2013? The younger one, the one who actually survived the confrontation with the police, had his face shown on so many screens he's received fanmail. That's a terrorist who's responsible for the deaths of 3 people and the injuring or maiming of over 250 more. And he got fanmail. From American girls wanting to jump his bones. Just imagine what a populist politician with a persuasive message could do with even half the free publicity every news cycle.
Except you don't have to imagine. That's Trump. I wouldn't know even a quarter of the things he's done if it hadn't been for someone screeching about it and drawing my attention every half hour. If he wins the election, he should dedicate his victory to Trump Derangement Syndrome patients. He really couldn't do it without them.
