Autism IS more common in boys, that part is true, but I doubt any decent psychiatrist would deny a diagnosis based on someone's gender? That's ridiculous.

Unpopular opinion incoming but I actually don't believe this is true. Personally I think the reason autism diagnoses are more common in boys is because people generally are more willing to overlook or dismiss antisocial behavior in girls. I've met many women who fit the sperg stereotype but are just labled "quirky" or "different" Whereas the same behavior from a man would almost guarantee an autistic spectrum diagnosis.

Not BPD they don't, need a psych for that since most therapy is actually damaging to BPD patients unless it's specialized for Dialectic Therapy. She won't get a diagnosis and even if she did she wouldn't like the treatment which involves triggering strong emotions while on stabilizing meds to build coping skills. They'd give some pills and tell her to stop being a pussy and do some public speaking if it bothers her so much, so she can gain confidence in dealing with the related anxiety.
