A bit more backstory:
The suspect not only fired at the police officer Joseph Mensah, he had >35 rounds of extra ammo on him and was heading into a very busy mall. The shooting happened in the shopping center parking lot.
This cop is a hero.
The officer has had two other on the job shootings cleared going back to 2015.
A few weeks ago, there was a large "protest" outside his girlfriend's house where Mensah had been staying and one of the rioters fired a shotgun through the door. A local councilman named David Bowen was there with the rioters, and lied to the media saying it was Mensah who fired the shotty.
Also, not so ironic that the main group in rabid hysterics over this cop is the same damn group who was in Kenosha. The jagoff who got his arm half blown off is a member of that group, "People's Revolution Movement Milwaukee."

I was just talking to someone about this and it's like just how is this supposed to work? He can't have a fair trial because it's already been decided by people, they basically have to convict him because otherwise a bunch of white people from the coasts will burn what they didn't already, and I don't know why you'd even go through the motions. It's a foregone conclusion that this isn't going to be fair trial so just take him out back and shoot him if you're going to play pretend anyways.

The governor is on now talking about his new lockdown order, and a reporter questioned him on the impending decision. The question was also asked as to whether the NG was called up because the determination will be not to charge the cop. Gov. obvs cannot comment on such. It's warmed up considerably here from being in the upper 40's a couple days ago, so I can see unrest just because of the weather, frankly.

This "local news agency" just put a target on the Bail Bondsman. His business is about to be burned down and his life and family threatened. this Fox Channel just put out a hit on him. And for simply doing the job he is required to do by law. I don't know Minnesota law for certain. But most states require Bail Bondsmen to take all comers. They cannot evaluate them on any basis save ability to pay/available attachable assets/prior history of bail jumping. If the accused comes to a Bail Bondsman they typically cannot be turned away on the basis of the nature of the accused crime. Notice how in most news stories about crimes and justice, they never tell you who the Bail Bondsman is? So why did they just do it here?
