The Young Turks / Secular Talk / Cenk Uygur, Anna Kasparian & Friends - News show hosted by a fat genocide-denier & cast of assorted fun characters.

Trying to send already dumb person to college is just about the very worst thing you could ever do.

You don't get a smart person out of it, you get a fully indoctrinated one because they're too dumb to know they're being fed bullshit.
Oh I don't disagree. If you're smart enough to realize in college you really don't know much (which is at least the Socratic ideal of education), then you're already better off than almost everybody else—that's kind of the point. But that doesn't mean Tim is dumb, per se, though who knows what he would think if he had gone to college.

I just think he's average, and it's a good thing to consider the perspective of someone who is (and knows they are) average. The grifting leftists like Vaush, Destiny, Shoeonbaldhead, Hasan, etc. all think they're smart, which defeats the purpose of their educations (whether legitimate or cobbled together) and results in gaining very little of value from digesting their content. With Tim, he may be dumb, but really most people are, so I don't see the problem with considering his views.

Tim also has had actually life experience traveling and working on his business which already gives him an edge in wisdom over many of these. He's probably learned way more in actually reporting than he ever would in college and that's why I think he's a step above many modern-day reporters.

Neither do I. In fact you (not you specifically, but in the general sense) had better, because those are the kind of people who make up the vast majority of the electorate. The fact that the left increasingly can't do that is why they're in the shape they're in.

I don't know, Pakman is leaps and bounds more intelligent than Hasan. He's better at laying traps, springing awkward questions and having examples ready to counter points.

Hasan is an actual retard, like he's an idiot. He lost a debate to Charlie fucking Kirk, had Destiny teaching him how to debate and still sucked at it. His debate with AJW just descended into him being a whiny sperg.

I don't put any stock in Tim Pool, but fuck me is he better equipped than someone like Hasan to discuss anything. The only person I saw lose a debate to Hasan was SinatraSays, and even then Hasan was wrong - SinatraSays just wasn't prepared to counter to stream of utter garbage Hasan spewed.
pakman is despicable.

The important part in my opinion is that Pakman's major strategy is dodging and reframing questions, so if you're in front of a more neutral audience then if you push him you might seem as unnecessarily aggressive and less reasonable. Hasan on the other hand is more in the category where he just wants to impress people who already agree with him.
yes he is an export of the passive aggressive style.

average is dumb. anyone under IQ 145 cannot think for themselves. anyone under IQ 115 cannot even be trusted as middle-management. Tim pool is about 115.

Destiny is actually smarter, smarter than avg. Vaush is 1 tier below him.

Another example of why TYT has become such a joke at reporting:

2:09- "...simply walking past their home..."

A few reminders from someone who has only skimmed the news over the past 6 months:
-This is a mob that has killed and maimed multiple people in various places across the country (not to mention enormous amounts of property damage)
-They weren't threatened by the mob being in their neighborhood, but rather on their front lawn
-The mob had already physically destroyed barriers in order to enter the neighborhood, which indicates they might not be 100% chill

0:32 hear that little "aw" that AK said? I physically cringed at that. What an utterly repulsive person. If I was a novelist, I'm not sure that I could even write a character as hateable as Ana.
This is a very glaring problem for partisan media in this day and age.
They can spin a yarn about 'peaceful protests', and sneer and denigrate a couple who spent their entire working lives helping your side, but it isn't the Middle Ages. We live in an era where everybody over the age of 10 has a camera in their pocket. This site alone is a testament to the volumes of inane shit millions post on the internet publicly, for free.
When TYT lie like this, I wonder if they ever factor in how many viewers they then lose because people do the very straightforward look into the subject themselves, and find them to be abusing their platform by brazenly lying? They don't get to say it's just their opinion.
TYT purports to be a credible alternative to established television and newspaper outlets. They've been claiming cutting edge integrity since, when? I wanna say the 2012 election? Yet they are on the internet, where the old ways of gatekeeping acceptable information just doesn't fly.
How do Cenk and co. reconcile their position where a video of theirs talking about an incident can be completely discredited by searching on youtube 'McCloskey' instead of 'Young Turks McCloskey'?
Why is it, then, that anybody takes them seriously as a news outlet when they themselves are LESS informed (be it through bias or incompetence) than non-journalists? Finding things out is literally their job!

Average by definition is 100. That's the median, no?

I'd put Tim at 115 (though IQ isn't really that meaningful beyond a measure of potential).

And Destiny may be "smart" but that doesn't mean anything. You can be smart but still be idiotic in thinking you're smarter than everyone else. Proving that is literally Socrates' whole life story. Destiny thinks he's God's gift to the earth, just like all these other grifting leftists. He has a capability for debate and fast-witted rhetoric, though I'd argue it's really just the cavalcade of words which makes him seem smart. In terms of introspection, he doesn't seem that great, honestly. But I know almost nothing about him other than him shitting on Vaush as a person, so I may be wrong.

Vaush is a much better example of someone who is dumb but thinks they're smart due to an education. He doesn't even have the elite chops to even get that out, really. If you want to crush people with your massive education, you have to go to a top tier school. But that's just my experience, having gone to one such top tier school. In reality, you're right. Vaush is in the tier below Tim, probably just above average.

Yes but 100 is retarded. Basically every discovery and invention was created by IQ 145+. IQ 115-130 is your typical college educated managerial class. Maybe 130-145 being c-suite execs or many STEM grad students. So average IQ in IRL context is very dumb.

Destiny is smart. IQ 130+ but he is also brainwashed by the liberal equality social justice religion/ideology. He argues in bad faith to not lose like everyone else. But Destiny isn't genius lv IQ. He has no real 'unique" thoughts. He parodies either center-left neo-lib talking points or far-left woke talking points depending on the situation. He doesn't have unique positions or ideas that he created. He is still a follower, not a true leader. But I don't think he has the IQ/comprehension to see his own limits.

My gut feeling is that Vaush is 1 level above Tim Pool but I 1 level below Destiny or Packman. Tim Pool reminds me of my libertarian high school economics teacher. If I had to guess. I would say Tim Pool is 100-115, Vaush is 115-130. Packman and Destiny are ~130-145.

Finding things out isn't most journalists' job now, if it ever was. Most journalists' job is to reinforce certain narratives while avoiding lying in such a direct and blatant way that they can legally be sued. That's what gets them paid.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, and I don't mean to be rude... but your own IQ must be about 25 if you think Pakman is anywhere near 130.

This guy? Really?

And no, he's not joking or being sarcastic. If you don't believe me, look at how dumb the people are in the replies. Someone that smart wouldn't have such dumb followers.

They seriously can't tell that the 'S' proves it's photoshop?

I am surprised how short this thread given how long TYT has been around.
It's because while they're cows, they're pretty boring ones compared to the rest of the herd. This thread only really picks up around the election cycle, and while we'll get some good laughs out of them, they're not nearly as consistently entertaining as someone like Ethan Ralph.

What the fuck are you nerds talking about? I see numbers I crunch them.
Jesus Christ, how much fuckery of IQ-numbers can you dish out?

I get the strong sense something big js about to happen, there's too many scandals, Cenk is increasingly unhinged, people seem to be distancing themselves from him including the Dem establishment, and he takes bigger and bigger catastrophic swings. Like some of the best threads, I think this one is just on standby until the real shitshow.

I think it's all because they're no longer useful idiots for the Dem establishment, who're probably no longer bankrolling them. This makes Cenk increasingly more unhinged and grift harder, and the rest are screeching louder in a desperate attempt to stay relevant

It's because while they're cows, they're pretty boring ones compared to the rest of the herd.
It's also because they're grifter-cows rather than true internet autism.

Grifter cow pages tend to remain relatively stable/quiet, with most posts being merely archival of any day-to-day doings.

Then now and again there's a big habbening where the grifter overstepped somehow and the thread grows 50 pages overnight.
