I love how they've convinced themselves that Trump is waiting until his second term to do all the evil shit. Long term chess not checkers planning I guess.

I think in some way they are pissed off Trump ISN'T a dictator. That's why they keep making shit up about him anyway; because they WANT to be victims.
In a way I hope they're not wrong. Trump will need to do things they will consider evil if we're to disarm their ideology, especially given that the left has defined anything against it as evil.

These people don't even live in the real world anymore. Where do they get this shit? How are the peddlers of this kind of incorrect garbage not jailed?
I've had to listen to coworkers today going on about Trump is gonna pardon the guys who tried to kidnap the governor. (Is that who these guys are talking about? I'm bad with names.)
They are completely off the deep end and even then they don't seem to understand that he couldn't pardon them if he lost. There's no way the trial is done by them. The only reason I'm not convinced your redditor is my coworker is that he would use "orange man". This is a grown ass man who says that shit out loud.

Why would he pardon leftists?

Don’t you know that Trump personally infected millions with Corona so 215,000+ can die? I thought that was common knowledge.
Oh that's right I forgot he created and perfected Covid-19 in his secret laboratories on the US/Mexico border by testing it on brown children in cages until it was ready to be injected into bats in China.

No you are getting it wrong. Trump is super dumb, the Russians did that for him so they can help him get reelected for 2020.

Columbus was a piece of shit, not even gonna argue that, but I've yet to see Donnie straight up genocide anyone anywhere.
Oh he's garbage to the natives he met (like holy shit), but Italian-Americans tend to like him due to his being Genoese. Even if it wasn't just him making a tweet like that to distract the retards from whatever he really wants to do, it's a good nod to a decent chunk of the Italian-American community who refuse to let the day die. That bunch defend the day as a nod and in rememberance to the times their families were treated like shit by the puritans around them.

So it's not 4d chess, but it is 3d checkers.

They're talking about how Louis DeJoy should be thrown in jail for treason for removing the fast sorting machines from US Post Offices (which I agree was a pretty boneheaded move, regardless of who made the decision)

This was actually interesting. It's been stolen from how to talk to liberals/Hillary supporters, as it emphasizes emotional appeals and lived experiences, as that's the only way I've found that works (they didn't reason their way into the belief, therefore you can't use reason to change their mind). For instance, bringing up how illegal immigration creates a de facto slave class. Or how unchecked immigration can bring even more disease into the country. Framing it in a care/harm matrix is better, as they view that as more important than fairness, tradition, or liberty.

For a typical conservative, usually you'd convince them by using arguments regarding fairness or tradition. (I think? I've never had to argue an opposing viewpoint with a conservative before, so don't quote me on that.)

It's also typical lib, as instead of "hey I just want to understand" what they really mean is "hey i want to know how to change your mind", which I will admit to doing to a few sh*tlibs if i disagree with their reason for why they believe a certain way [aka, there's a difference between "I hate Trump bc he's made some sleazy business deals in the past and I don't like that a guy like him is president" vs "he's a racist and had 2 scoops! And he's mean to china!!" (which I think, if you strip down and get to the real reason many of them don't like Trump, it's because they view him as mean. And in their care/harm matrix, hurting feelings is worse than corruption [aka "don't want to disappoint random 8 yo and make her sad when hillary isn't president! That's more important than corruption!"]

Re-reading this, I admittedly got my hackles up because it also uses very disingenuous arguments. "This is more than politics, it's about humanity!" Barf.

And at the very end, it made me chuckle when it didn't add, "if you didn't change their mind, that's okay! You've reached a greater understanding with each other, and sometimes it's better to agree to disagree."
