It's October, boys. That means we can discuss Fakemons of the Ghost variety. Or rather in this case, alternate forms of an existing one.

On Bogleech's review of the Gastly line, he remarked on different "Gengars", and they having a different shape beyond the one we know and love.
However, I think Ditto takes up the role of the ultimate shapeshifter, and thus why there's not many Pokémon out there that can turn into other Pokémon, other than Zorua.

Doesn't help that both Ditto and Gengar are from generation one, so having two Pokémon that can change their form to other Pokémon in one dex would be redundant.

You can view these images at the end of the review. Some of them are certainly charming.

Remember Pokemon Reboot?
Turns out one of the artists, maumeart, is working on a region of his own: the Kyanos region.

Based off of Greece, this region's starters are the fire bull, Calfyre, the water cat Bublynx, and the grass toad Politad... Which totally doesn't read like something from the Poliwag line.

Not gonna lie, I want these to actually be pokemon

Your style is very cute, the first one is adorable. Much better than the original, its still a weird line though, not sure how fish turns into crab.
I assume the way that Kaiju05 did it, is akin to the Dragonite line, a serpentine dragon turning into a bipedal dragon.

I know this may be a stretch, but maybe it could be a reference to fish parasites? Like that one parasite that looks like a crab that cuts off the fish's tongue or whatever!

Decided to check out the Mystery Dungeon webcomics once again. Found one named "Finding your Roots".

Holy shit. :stress:
Have any of these people seen a Pokémon before? How is that thing a Machop? It looks like a Charmander in a homemade Machop costume. Also, why is Makuhita so skinny? It's legs look NOTHING like that. In fact, the original design is actually pretty stubby, and I don't think it even has legs.

Let's see.
- Graveler has a generic smiley face, lacks hands and feet, and also lacks his head crest.
- Makuhita has defined legs, open eyes and a snout with nostrils
- Machop has a tail, huge head ridges, a much larger snout and absolutely no muscles.
Every Pokemon in that comic is off by degrees of magnitude.
Also, have more cringe

Weird thing is that the other mons aren't furry at all. It's like this one is a fursona. It's also a starter.

Machop actually does have a tail, but it's definitely not that long.

I wouldn't say those head ridges are too big, but more that the head ridges are too slated on the sides. Makes the Machop look more like a Bagon.

It's a pretty stubby tail. For some reason, it disappears after evolution, which I find strange, in my opinion.
Unless this Machop in peculiar has a longer tail than others of his own kind (in some attempt to make him stand out?), his tail shouldn't be that long.

Their Marshstomp is also pretty wonky.

I figured out it just gets smaller (or stays same size as body grows big) and gets tucked into underwear these got on.

Now why Alakazam has no tail, ruining what could have been a progression to Kadabra's gorgeous silhoette, that is a question which bugs me still.

Tail fetish? That's only reason I can think of, and furry artists do tend to overdraw/focus quite clearly on things that they generally find attractive, such as overly detailed paws or mouths for example.

Well, shit. Now I'm just thinking of Machamp with a very tiny tail poking out of the back of his underwear.

Well, seeing the final evos of the gen 8 starters...

That thing wouldn't look out of place on an official game.

You forgot to mention that Makuhita is based off of a sumo, yet here it's much thinner than it's supposed to be. The snout also bothers me, it clearly has a flat face with no defined nose. It feels as if the artist has only looked at the Pokémon once or twice, and never again.

As for the complaint for the lack of muscles on Machop, if you've seen the Twilight Wings episode, you'll notice it's much more lean in musculature. Kinda like an athletic kid.

In older appearances, though, he looked more like a midget with muscular arms. It's kind of uncanny in a way how most of it's body is pretty child-like, yet it's arms have very defined musculature.

As for that starter you posted, I definitely think the furry undertones need to be toned down. Can you show us the other starters from their Instagram, though?
