I feel like not enough attention is being drawn to the fact that Ryan choked someone without consent. Even *with* consent, choking someone can go wrong. Doing it on a much younger and inexperienced person is already pretty dumb and risky in of itself, but doing it on a younger and inexperienced person without consent is just flat out psychotic.
Even if someone likes rough and kinky sex, being choked without knowing and agreeing it to it before hand would be terrifying and could lead to being injured when they instinctively fight back.
I don't typically like armchair psychologists, but you don't have to be one to know that Ryan is dangerous. Doing anything without consent is a common sense red flag. Not taking your partner's comfort seriously during sex is a common sense red flag. Choking someone without consent is a huge neon red sign.
The choking also bothered me. I wouldn't go so far as to call him psychotic, but when you combine the nonconsensual choking with the excessively violent sex that injured her
every time, the lying to her face about being gentler/never playing around/always using condoms, and whatever insulting, degrading language he used on her to blame her for being injured by his rough sex all combine to make it obvious he saw her as nothing more than a sex toy. Not even a side piece, just something he stuck his dick in whose pleasure or feelings didn't matter. It proves for sure that he's violently abusive as a partner, as well as likely mentally/emotionally.
I'll be honest, the "power imbalance" shit has always seemed silly to me. If the girls that sent him nudes were legal adults, and he flirted back, I see no problem there. For example: say Scarlett Johansson was hitting on me, and I banged her, but regretted it later. If I were to turn around and say "there was a power imbalance! She was just so famous, I couldn't say no!" People would reply "you're a grown man, take some responsibility for your actions." Now, if ScarJo were blackmailing me, or extorting me, then sure, that's different, but an adult willingly banging somebody they're a fan of, I take no issue with. That's not to excuse Ryan's behaviour, because he clearly lied and manipulated these girls, but just a "power imbalance" because one party is famous and the other isn't is meaningless to me

can be a thing, but it's way overused. Some minor e-celeb giving you attention isn't a power imbalance unless they're employing you. To use another Markiplier nonscandal as an example: after one of the members of Cyndago killed himself in Markiplier's house (as they were living with him at the time), Mark fell into a dark place psychologically alongside the others in Cyndago. He ended up channeling that into abusive behavior toward the other people in Cyndago, being an unreasonable and angry boss, insulting and belittling them, and lashing out in emotionally abusive ways. He owned the house they lived in, had all the money in the relationship, and was employing them. It only stopped after someone else offered them a place to stay.
That is a power imbalance in a relationship. Just because one person is famous and knows someone who isn't does not make them suddenly imbalanced.
Bro, do you have some kind of an issue with Katie specifically or something? You've brought it up like five times already. I genuinely don't understand how you're coming to this conclusion where we've basically had it all but confirmed that Ryan is a serial emotional abuser and took advantage of the mentally vulnerable in his conquest for mediocre sex. Why is it such a shock to you that Katie is just as much a victim as girls like Tess and Mish? Her story lines up with theirs, she's the only one to NOT have helped him cheat on his wife, and she made it clear in her doc why she was so fixated on him - because she had an abusive family and looked up to Ryan as a father figure, and obviously, even in spite of the shitty stuff he was doing, he was still better than her actual family.

It actually is possible for both sides of a situation to be garbage people. In Katie's case, Ryan is a creepy, abusive pervert who hurts girls to feel more manly and Katie is an emotionally manipulative crybully who seeks attention and sympathy from anyone she can, and will try to emotionally manipulate them into giving it to her.
Maybe it's just me but, if it weren't for Jew Wario, I think the CA thing would have been a total fizzle. Most of those claims were barely more believable than the things thrown at Vic. Which is not to say CA isn't autistic.
