You are onto something with her, though. Burnie is the one that scouted and hired her - she was one of the Frag Dolls previously - and not long after he hired her, they started dating. He was married before that and mentioned his wife quite often in podcasts and videos, but it's a bit unclear if there was overlap between him still being married to his ex-wife Jordan and starting to date Ashley.

That's been true of the fanbase for years. I bailed on Rooster Teeth right after they released the first Drunk Tank podcast. I listened to it and realized that there was nothing interesting or appealing about Burnie Burns or Geoff whatshisname or Gus Sorola. RvB was at its best when it was a Machinima comedy series with some vague plot thrown in for conflict. Everything after the Tex miniseries just wasn't very entertaining.

It was fine when we were high schoolers and were hyped waiting for Halo 3. No one that I know of was getting fucked around with, the only RT con was in Toronto, it was all grassroots then. Some hijinks were expected from Rooster Teeth but it didn't get out of hand. But it's not like the first wave of fans were immensely brainy or anything like that. There was always dumbassery and debauchery and other dumb crap. It's just that eventually the RvB fans grew up and moved on when RvB stopped being interesting and they kept getting replaced with dumb whores how apparently lust after balding let's players.

That weirdness from their fans is how they make most of their money - fans are living vicariously through them, and they know that, so they allow it and even encourage it so fans will buy more merch. There's a Rules and "Gudelines" (guess writing fanfiction for a living doesn't translate to being a good speller ) page on the RT fanfic site that discusses at length what is and isn't okay for fans to include in their fanfiction; most everyone at the company is "fine" with fanfics, except for a very small handful of people, and any RT kids are generally off-limits completely.

I think the reality is that most of them probably find it creepy as fuck, but it brings in money for the company, so they keep their mouth shut about it and don't cause issues over it as long as fans don't shove it in their faces.
