Didn't know the shirt thing was a gimmick. Is his m.o. just to sell t-shirts every time someone dies? He made one when Ginsburg died as well. Not sure what the humor is in making money off someone's fresh corpse. Is the joke 'They're life is so miserable they killed themselves to not have to deal with the pain, let me cash in' ... funny? Or just getting off on doing something against societal norms? I understand the humor in not sugar coating someone's life or making fun of someone horrible who died or even just angering people by saying they are glad someone's dead just to piss people off. Cashing in just seems crass.
Here's the problem I have with it: How do you tell? We know there are people who have gotten busted for tracing from real CP so at any time the stuff being consumed could be as well. Frankly I'm not even ok with it if it was traced from real children who weren't nude and I'm pretty unconvinced when people say shit like "they were just making it up bro it came from nothing".
I'm not sure how true the tracing thing (though I have heard it before) is but obviously anyone who does it is a scumbag and should be arrested and hung. Generally if something is traced you can tell pretty easily but I'm not an art expert. But if a character looks about as realistic as a Powerpuff Girl with noodle limps its a pretty safe bet it wasn't traced.
Dax’s current fanbase are incels who are a couple days away from hanging themselves or shooting up a school. They like his mild edgy takes because more interesting and funnier people have been deplatformed. They see him as a father figure because they’ve never had a strong male presence in their lives who didn’t outright reject them or abandon them.
Technically I think that falls more under the "furry" category.

I'm convinced that Dick's family does not love him or respect him. He is a genetic dead-end, a clown, an embarrassment, and it matters to him. He'll pretend that it doesn't. He'll say that he doesn't care, but that's just a mountain of lies. He's broken inside, and he longs to be loved and respected. His girlfriend does not love him, not without manipulation, and she most certainly does not respect him. Despite acting like he's comfortable being hated, he secretly just wants to be loved. He found the love and respect from a niche group of degenerates, and he needs them so that he can believe some people out there really love them, when even they probably don't.
The incel word is thrown around but I do think we can say that Dax's fanbase has more of them than other fanbases.
