posting here to pour gas on the conspiracy fire. imagine befriending ppp during np2 and NOT seeing becoming an xfiles villain coming

i think tea clips handled it better, she used her body and the promise of showing her face, of building a further connection with the simps, to deliver news and paint ppp as just some fat retarded man going against their girl. she actually has a bit of planning and animal cunning about her that i never noticed. just brutal blunt contrast of shaming you for agreeing with or being sympathetic to ppp's side of things and using male thirst to further set up a contrast and make men feel like virgins for siding with or agreeing more with ppp
There is no simp army - in comes the simp army
Accusation that people are only in it for the money - nearly everyone goes on record stating they wouldn't do YT without the opportunity to be paid through tipping at least, some even asking for appearance fees

She got a faction together, which has been interesting to watch. She still clips great stuff, I like her content, but I wanted so badly for that stuff to be not true.

The simp army stuff was more this idea that she was coordinating with people to flag ralph or whatever, which was totally baseless and just thrown out by gator to muddy the waters. (also she def has simps, but thats like every fucking female on the internet because men are sad)

Honestly PPP lost me with the money shit. Everyone wants money, and very few people are willing to put in the time and effort that it takes to be competitive when creating content without a financial incentive. He worked with a lot of people who were far worse than tea clips (like kraut with a patreon, paypal donation link, and fucking amazon wishlist in the descriptions of his videos) when it came to asking for or receiving money, and is still friendly with them. It just seems like a crime invented to find a reason to hate anyone with an internet career.

I'm all for calling out grifters who sell a fake personality or cult of personality to get donations (ralph, dick and possibly nick rekieta but I find nick too boring to look into), but reeing about anyone accepting voluntary donations/enabling ads is about as sensible as going down to the grocery store and yelling at the clerk about how food should be free.

I thought that was more sparked by her asking to get paid to run OBS for them when they needed someone to do it once when they were trying to set up a stream

I thought the asking to be paid thing was when they were demanding she come on stream with them after already going at her for having ads.

I don't remember the obs thing, but if that actually happened I would have just told them to fuck off and ask their grandma to teach them how to run it because its so fucking easy instead of asking for money like a fag.

If youre just taking someone elses videos and putting ads on it, while they say they dont want them. Thats incredibly gay and you deserve to be called out. PPP months ago called out tclips for the same shit. Its not some sort of new plot point.

If they had a problem with how she monetizes videos, why did they give her videos and ask her to host them on her channel? Its just outrage manufacturing and stirring up drama.

Plus I was more addressing the general reeeing about making money they have done to a number of people, not just her.

We are obviously on 2 different minds on this so we will just have to agree to disagree rather then shitting up the thread. Ill just make my final point that if Teaclips felt like they were in the right, why did they feel the need to come in the thread with asockpuppet to damage control themselves? It really just comes down to that.

I think the money thing comes to a difference in philosophy - do people see making videos as their hobby or as a job? Do people make stuff just for beauty or to primarily sell it? Sometimes making a video is just about the love of making a video or the dopamine you get from it. Most people seem to think of what they do as commodities to be compensated for as opposed to something to fill their free time. And sometimes where money and youtube collide, issues come up. Many people censor more. Sometimes the content gets really stale, but the creator keeps doing it because they don't want to risk losing money if the audience doesn't like the new stuff. Many people have hobbies purely for the love of creation and self expression, making videos being one of them, which is a surprisingly, to me anyway, foreign concept these days.

I understand all that, but I also understand that most things that are worth doing from a creative perspective usually are time consuming and emotionally draining at times. While it would be nice if everyone could just spend all day doing passion projects and handing out free content without even asking for donations in return, thats just not the world we live in. Our economy doesn't use creative expression as a currency and we all only have a certain amount of energy to spend on productivity each day.

I hate it when content becomes sterilized to avoid demonetization or appeal to an audience of paypigs who just want formulaic shit, but I think that 9 times out of 10 if a content creator reaches the point where that becomes an issue, if they weren't taking money in the first place they would have given up creating content entirely in favor of working more hours or spending that time doing something more mindlessly recreational.

I just see getting upset over a youtuber putting ads on their content or having superchats/donations enabled as the equivalent of yelling at a street performer for having a cup next to him.

The statue man man who sometimes throws a roman when I drop a dollar bill in the hat doesn't stop to talk to me about nord vpn, then suddenly doesn't stop throwing romans after a couple of other folks throw some money in the cap.

This is the only known dox of godwinson
If the 4th Baronet of Ribble Lodge is an Old Tonbridgian and a devout Catholic, then it's possible he knew Father Michael Smith of Tonbridge, the priest who allegedly abused Milo Yiannopoulos as a teenager. Is this the Milo-Adam connection? Fr. Michael was the final piece in the puzzle, why else would he OD on opiates all those years ago?

Go to work or school or whatever obligations you have, eat, do your chores, then with the time left over, you have a hobby. Could be watching tv, playing video games, crafting, sports, hunting, etc. Busking is a job of sorts. You may do something you love, but the point is to make money. That's why the cup. A hobby brings you joy, fulfillment, creative expression, etc. It's not about money.

If people are making videos and wouldn't if no money came their way, then they are doing it for the money. Does an artist only paint when they have commissions or do they create regardless? Does someone playing an instrument at home stop mid song and plug something? Or say they'll only finish the verse if they get $5 more? Or stop mid song, "$5 from Beethoven, this Sonata is awesome"? No, they keep going because it's about the music and how it makes them feel.

Most Youtubers see what they do as a job or side hustle, even if they don't realize it themselves. Some people see Youtube as a hobby, which is what it was when it began, when no money was involved. Hobbies are something people do voluntarily to take up their free time, to make them happy, for life to be bearable, to kill time. For some people, that's making videos.

He says he works sales but would you buy anything from an obese kid ?

The way he acted towards Jarbo shows his true shitty character

Funny you mention Beethoven, because I think everyone can agree than what he did was amazing and that music was definitely something he was passionate about. Yet he did it for money.

I don't want this to devolve into a side thread titled "Debate Bob Barker about the ethics of grifting" though so I'll just leave it at this: I wish people would just make good content for the sake of making good content, but I can't blame them for monetizing it in response to the realities of life.

Honestly PPP lost me with the money shit.
This has been a perennial problem with PPP. He purports to support capitalism, but always spends an inordinate amount of time bitching about people making money.

That said, I see his point with regards to Tea Clips specifically. What she is doing is really low effort. She's making money off his shit, that he doesn't care to make money off of, because I think he regards what he does as nothing more than a hobby. I can't begrudge him being at least slightly irritated.

In the end, he's got a very "old YouTube" mindset in a "new YouTube" world. Not gonna lie. I am nostalgic for those days too.

The tea clips stuff just felt petty to me. She stopped clipping his content the second he bitched about it, and before he bitched about it they were asking her to host their content. He only got mad IIRC when she started clipping his shit and slightly criticizing him, then suddenly money was a problem. Who he vehemently hates (toad, jim, ralph) vs who he is/was nice and friendly to (kraut, tea clips for a time, mundane "turn off the pesky adblock" matt) is based on personal reasons only and then justified by pointing to the fact that they make money on the internet.

Its that pattern I don't like. Not that he's autistic about money, but that he's autistic about money only when it gives him an excuse to attack someone. His principles and ethics are applied with no consistency or fairness. He attacks people off of a personal dislike of them and then acts like its about some real issue he cares about. Sure you can call it a bit or keyfabe or whatever, but its all the same fake and gay shit that made me dislike everyone else on the board.

He say he doesnt like monetized videos, PPP has his own paypal, Kraut's videos arent monetized either, tea clip and jarbo do. I guess its kind of an autistic distinction on PPP's part, but thats his reasoning. Also with tea clips it was taking his video against monetization, and uploading it to her channel with monetization, which he said "people with think im a hypocrite, because they wont recognize that its not my channel".

I mean if you can write "youtuber" as a job application you should kys, so I get that part, and why they were pissed that Jarbo didnt get his revenge then go get another career
