Hey all, sorry for Necro'ing an old thread, but earlier today I was thinking about how to compare the SJW-culture to the Dashcon ballpit, when I realized that indeed, I hadn't checked on its status in a while and if they decided to stop beating a dead horse.

Turns out they haven't. And moreso, just by chance, today they announced their first celebrity appearance...

Good GodBear. This guy's track record recently is just a constantly sinking hole. I thought for sure he's show up in gay porn first, but no sir, he's going for broke.

Fear not. Brendan Fraser is actually in some high-production mini-series right now, so he's working. The tumblr is full of spelling errors so I call "Poe's Law", just some neckbeard trying to make the DashCon people look foolish -they can do that just fine on their own.

Well, at least it's taking place somewhere where stupidity is A-OK to get away with - and that's FACT. I think we can rest a little easy for those of us afraid of it taking place somewhere else that might actually look down on this self-serving BS.

As far as being sick of GamerGate, it could be for the wrong reasons such as seeing a Vivian cosplay. Some would be indifferent, others think it's stupid (the movement I mean), but then you'd get those that could get overly sensitive towards it. It may as well be relevant not just to those that are for it but also those that are way too against it (and I say way too against it in that they just spergs like the spergs that are for it, not being moderate with their dislike).

That might be their reasoning.

Then again they don't want revealing outfits or R-rated gore even though there's characters out there like that, so who the fuck knows their real agenda.

While there can be good reasons, its Tumblr. This is a convention that came from Tumblr. The only reason they don't want revealing outfits and R-rated gore is the same as the GamerGate thing in that it could trigger someone for whatever reason. You'd have con members that would be offend by some sexy cosplay (even if their rabid hatred turned out to be shaming) and other con attendees that get overly sensitive to say some guy cosplaying a RE6 zombie that has a plastic toy axe on his head.
 
is this actually happening and if so where in florida my halfboyfriend lives there I may just have to convince him that we should go to this
