He has consistently said he is a "Constitutionalist." He's elaborated on that by noting that is now widely regarded as a "right of center" philosophy, so he'll sometimes go with conservative or Republican.

When pressed on the religion issue, he's said he likes Deism.

I think the centrism accusation stems from the fact he's not a huge politisperg, and just "wants to laugh at stupid shit on the Internet." IOW, he probably has beliefs, they just don't always translate into his content.

You can spot this group because their biggest complaint is he's making money off hats and subscriptions. Defenders from the gamergate days will point out that Jim took the high road and left the cause on principle. A great deal of bitching goes on over this issue alone.

If someone knows Jim mostly from his Metokur persona then the biggest complaint is his connection with the IBS crowd. Jim had the reputation of not being anyone's friend and that he would make fun of anyone that fucks up. Since Jim went after Tonkasaw, critics demanded he go after Dick and Ralph. Because he didn't it was proof Jim was simping for his "internet friends." Defenders would point out that Jim is just an asshole, and not to take the guy so seriously.

That's kind of why half the fan base doesn't get what the issue with Jim is. They never saw him as a shining example of anything. When critics bring up Gamergate, simping, and grifting his newer fan base doesn't really understand why anyone cares. They just know Jim from a few videos and streams talking about stupid shit.

There is a lot of lore going back more than ten years with Jim, and as a result, there is a lot of info that gets repeated over and over. This thread isn't really the best place to get a big picture of what the hell is going on. Instead it really just a collection of snapshots of other people's impressions from different points in Jim's career.

As for myself, I don't really get how someone can still get so enraged by a guy who's been gone for almost a year, and still feel compelled to write full essays on why Jim is a huge disappointment.

I guess Jim's touch lingers beyond the Twitter grave more for some.
