General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Holostars Among Us collab 2 was great. At first there was this rule that anyone who died had to yell in agony which resulted in some pretty great screams. On the last round, there was a vc dedicated to the ghosts. RIkka's 2GB memory carried the game through his sharp detective skills. I watched from Shien's POV and it was pretty hillarious to see him almost not getting suspected at all when he's impostor but the moment he is crewmate he's one of the first to be suspicious. Also on the last round, Kagami Kira manages to get in 4 kills before he gets voted out.

LilyPichu's Vtuber avatar is already finished. It seems like she announced that she wanted to become a Vtuber around the same time Pokimane did. Thoughts?

I will say, despite everything, the Live2D riggers at Iron Vertex continue to deliver a superb job, but that's the only positive thing i can say about this

I followed Lily way back in the day when I used to play League along with local trainwreck Sky Williams, and fell off following them mostly because I outgrew their content. While I absolutely despise Pokimane's virtual avatar for terrible rigging along with the fact that it's just basically her, Lily's seems incredibly natural. Yes, she's generic pink-haired anime girl, but her character avatar has always been that, ever since her earliest days before streaming; back when she was friend with Shurelya and they would do videos together, Lily's avatar was "pink hair anime girl with Pichu hoodie." It honestly seems like a matter of course for her to have a virtual avatar and I'm really surprised she didn't do it sooner, and from what I recall she felt kinda pressured into doing facecam stuff and really didn't want to have one for streaming, but since everyone else was doing it she might as well jump in with that shit.

Yeah, the most important thing for a vtuber is the personality, this can't be stressed enough.

Robel's streams are incredibly comfy and both EN and JP chatters are high quality. I think people watch him because he genuinely loves streaming. The amount of fun this guy has with "just" 1k viewers makes you wonder if it's even worth it to hit 1 million subs in under a month. Never having the opportunity to build a fanbase organically and having to force your own personality and memes must be stressful in comparison. This is why numberfagging is completely pointless. There's no relationship at all between number of subs and how good the stream is or the happiness of the streamer. The pressure of being the center of attention over such an arbitrary number is something that can make even Fubuki and Aki cry.

Robel's guest interviews are also pretty great.

Also, when do you think we will get our first full blown DSP level v-tuber lolcow? Pokimane doesn't count. I feel like it's inevitable that one will surface in the upcoming months. Things have been going too well for 2020 so we're due for the birth of a new lolcow in the english speaking v-tuber scene. I don't know if I should be buying artemiscoin right now but it's tempting.
Artemis just debuted, give 'em another week. :story:

"and they think that all people cannot watch youtube live without it."

Sorry us plebeians are behind the times because China numba one, but go ahead and spam up your own screen while I look at chat separately (or ignore it entirely) like the western caveman that I am. :story:

For my chuugokujiniki, I am terribly sorry for watching in full screen on my TV with commentary invisible while I work and play video games, like the arrogant western piggu that I am. I'm sure the "locust attack heavy artillery" is very effective.

I'm tired of discord narratives about Chinese antis like this one and the one before about the guy who "lost all his social credits" that got a herohei video.

I just assume most of them are fake since they read like fan fiction. They were also blasting Coco's chat with spam. It's pathetic how bad Youtube's bot protection is.
