Because this is kind of important, a republic is not a type of democracy. I'm not that old, and just in my lifetime, separation of church and state has gone from "the government can't institute a state religion or legislate religious doctrine" to, "people from religion X, Y, and Z aren't allowed to hold public office." How are all the policies we left in the 50s and 60s coming back through progressivism?

Note that all of the coverage on the LA Dodgers World Series win I saw this morning is about how Justin Turner is the worst human being ever for celebrating with his teammates.

The TL;DR is that Turner got pulled in the EIGHTH INNING last night because of a positive test. So if he had COVID, his teammates are all infected anyway. The game was already 3 hours old. But we have to have rules to show how much we care, so Turner endangered people's lives by joining his teammates in their celebrations. Again, no risk taking is allowed or you want grandma to die.
