Phil complained at the end of the day stream, after just passing $52, that it was slow, and that 'it had been slow recently'. He is begging right now on the evening stream saying that he really needs tips right now. He's right, it really has been slow recently, what with the $600 in tips he made 2 days ago. Memoryholed. More money needed. Now.

He also opened talking about his strategy for Genshin tonight. He's aiming for a "ten pull" because it has higher odds to blah blah. He is better with this lingo that with even the fighting game lingo, the genre that he played competitively for a decade. Really makes you wonder why that might be the case...

EDIT: He has repeatedly called it 'The Chinese game' when booting it up, and started saying some nonsense about how you never know where you're going to land in a Chinese game... I have no idea what this is about all of a sudden.

To hazard a guess, I think this is an attempt at hiding how much he's actually enjoying playing this gacha game. We all know how much he loves not referring to something directly by name when asked about it, and how he loves to feign being unable to remember certain things. Calling it "The Chinese Game" throws a veil of irony over his playthrough of it. It's like that WWE Battlegrounds he threw out recently, and the one before that.
"Everyone's telling me this game sucks but I'm gonna play it anyway so we can all laugh at how bad it is!" and then the game actually sucks and he starts pouting because you can tell he was really hoping to enjoy himself this time. Whenever Phil thinks he's headed into unclear territory he just starts hamming it up and trying to be satirical.
"Someone cheered and said 'Phil you should go back to playing that gacha game, seems like you really like that genre!'....what do you mean? You mean that, uh....Chinese game I played a while back? Not sure what you're talking about..."

Phil stated that the only reason he wore the Sonic hat was because he was in a good mood and wanted to do something silly for the stream of his own accord, and that mature people would understand that.

The money this year has given him freedom, and if people continue to support, he can afford the games, new system, and maybe improvements like the greenscreen. Someone asked what amount of tips are needed for him to be secure.
"There is no 'okay' amount of tips" was the response. The notion that there would be is ludacris.
That isn't how business works.
The tips give him the freedom to buy 'im-por-INT (sic) things'.
If he gets a bunch of tips one week and then nothing the next, that's a wash and that's not good.
And people shouldn't ask that, because it's a business matter.
Getting a lot of money on Monday does not mean he is okay, that isn't how this works and that was never how this worked.
"You know who doesn't need the money? The people with the million dollar contracts on Twitch." This is the sloppiest deflection I have ever seen.
If 'somebody' has a good night, just be happy for them. Don't get up in the streamer's business. It has nothing to do with the content that they're putting out.

This does beg the question then... what exactly is the 'tips goal' for? Isn't that the amount of tips that are supposed to allow him to pay his bills? I guess we have ditched that narrative and that's just what we need daily to be a business - $200, and that's gone by the next day. That's operating cost. Overhead expenses. Mature things.

This is egregious though. It's apparent that money questions are a massive sore spot right now because he has no viable explanations, so he is just allowing himself to get completely fired up by the people baiting him.

OF COURSE he ranted about how his teacher was a complete idiot, and would come in and rant about everything BUT Native American history. He’d just tell the students to read a book, and the teacher made his students “drive all the way across Connecticut to visit some stupid Native American History museum.” OH, and by the way, according to Phil, his teacher didn’t even look like a Native American. I guess Phil expected him to have a feather in his hair, and carry a bow and arrow, and have scalps of white men on the classroom wall. Then, the teacher actually sent Phil an email about how lousy of a student he was.

But Phil wasn’t going to take any of that bullshit... Phil wrote him back, by god!

Phil told him that, actually, HE was the lousy one! Phil told him how much of an idiot he was! Phil informed the teacher that, actually, HE could have got him in trouble for being such a stupid, terrible teacher! The email was so devastating and badass that the teacher didn’t even write back...

Oh, and Phil pointed out that the whole class agreed with him that the guy was a shitty teacher. He closed the story by saying that college is such a fucking scam.

By "diversity" classes he was actually referring to General Education requirements. He complained about having to take a course in statistics to fulfill one of his "diversity" requirements. It figures that Phil did not take too kindly to this class; if he understood statistics he probably wouldn't be a gacha addict.
