You've heard of Transgender and Transsexual. You've heard of Trans-species, and Transformers... now I introduce you to... Transableists!

Here's the long and short of it. Transableists are fetishists. What kind of fetish? Amputee fetish. They're aroused by missing body parts.
So what does being trans have to do with missing limbs? These "Transableists" are transitioning from being able people into being disabled people, because hacking off an arm or leg will make them feel like they are "whole." This can also apply to other forms of disability, like blindness, deafness, paralysis, etc...

Like being transgendered, it's considered an identity disorder, in that the subject's body does not conform to their perception of themselves... Sometimes it's based on some kind of brain damage, but most of the time, transableism is based on a creepy fetish.

Either way, this is a group of people who want to cut off perfectly good body parts that they kinda need in order to go about their normal business, all because they want to get a chubby. They want to severely damage themselves for sexy.

1_123125_123104_2080529_2085401_030708_whole_pretend.jpg.CROP.original-original.jpg

Sometimes they don't want to go through with it, so they engage in "stump-play."
I really wish I was kidding about that.

Naturally, they are supported by other disability fetishists, who want them to succeed at cutting up their body. Not to mention all the SJW types that go around trying to spread Transableist acceptance and tolerance.

Oh hey look! A wiki about it! You know it's a real thing if there's a wiki for it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apotemnophilia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_integrity_identity_disorder

And here's a scientific sounding paper about it that nobody will actually read.

An excerpt from a documentary about it.

What's this? A tumblr page? Who would have guessed?

And where would we be without some horrifying artwork?

Aaaand here's a website for people who want to pretend to be disabled... for totally non-sexual reasons guys.
http://devguide.org/pret.shtml

I won't post too many examples, because quite frankly these people are gross and make me want to tard rage... but I'll edit this post to include any notable examples.

As someone who suffers from an actual disability (deafness) I've come across transableists who want to become deaf by blowing out their eardrums or some similar garbage. I came across this in a forum board when I was looking up this subset of transableism, out of morbid curiosity, and i came away horrified. There are even people who think that hearing aids are "cute" and want to wear them in the same way that people who don't need glasses will wear them to look "cute"

The retarded thing about the temporary disability aspect is that for these people who make a game out of it, they can stop when they get bored of it and need to do something that requires said limb or body part. For someone who is actually disabled, there is no end to that game, so I find this fetish to be repulsive. Being disabled is not fun. There are few, if any, advantages. Sure, you might get privileges, like handicapped spaces or accommodations, but i do not have one disabled friend who wouldn't give up their disability (and the difficulties) that come with it so they wouldn't have to worry about these limitations. When I see these dumbasses who want to remove a healthy arm or leg, I want to take them to veterans who had their limbs blown off or shot off in war, or people who were born without limbs, and had to struggle through childhood, a time that should normally be happy and care-free.

And I hate hearing that bullshit about how our struggles make us stronger or whatever shit and thus making us more "noble" or whatever crap. I'd sooner not have my disability than become "stronger through my tribulations because it totally builds character!!!"

BIID is a disorder, and is termed as such for a reason. These retards need to realize that, and that the answer to this problem is NOT amputation, any more than depression needs to be dealt with by self-harm.

Maybe we can work out a voluntary donor system from these losers to trauma victims/diabetics that need limbs?

Isn't limb loss in diabetes usually caused by NOT taking care of oneself, though? I know that in a few cases, diabetes can be so severe that limb loss or other complications are inevitable despite a person's best efforts to manage, but most of the time limb loss due to the beetus could be avoided if the person actually took care of themselves. ALL of the stories I've come across of limb loss was always due to the diabetic not taking their condition seriously enough (I don't mean by being overweight, there was one case of a woman who had type 1 since childhood and she was never fat, she was actually pretty athletic and into sports, but she didn't manage her sugar for many years, thinking that she was healthy enough, and ended up losing her legs in her 30's) or even by outright ignoring the doctor's orders, as is the case in many cases of type 2 which in 80 percent of cases, is caused by not taking care of oneself.

Sorry for the tl;dr, but I know diabetics in real life, and have seen the consequences of taking care vs not taking care of your diabetes. If you're not going to manage your diabetes, I'm not going to feel sorry for you if you lose your legs.

For a diabetic, limb loss really only occurs when you don't take care of yourself properly. It can come from anything, from uncleanliness to not treating wounds properly and as you mentioned before, not taking diabetes serious. So you are spot on with this.

On topic of the first post, I have nothing against people 'trying out' different disabilities (To see how it is. Heck, there is a café nearby here, that is entirely dark and lead by a blind dude so you can 'see' how it is to be blind. It gets you thinking) , but there is always a line that shouldn't be crossed and to me, that is cutesifying it or acting as if having a disabilty is a blessing or downright sexy. I don't mind people having fantasies (even though the amputee fetish is incredibly creepy to me, even if drawn) but in real life? Really?
I don't think there are a lot of people out there all like "Hell yea! I only have one arm/leg!" if they lose it in some sort of accident.

The 'stump play' video also just gives me the chills. Something about it just seems wrong to me.

But sometimes it does just get away from the person, and once it starts it's really hard to stop it from progressing even with compliance. Even still, they're people who need limbs if these guys are having a fire sale.

As I understand, the primary cause of diabetic limb loss (and other issues like blindness or renal failure) is poor circulation due to the damage that the sugar does to your veins (like microscopic shards of glass flowing through you, which is essentially what these excess sugar crystals are) This in turn will lead to infections and gangrene and so on because the poor circulation leads to a decrease in healing, as well as a decrease in pumping fresh/clean blood through the area. So yeah, cleanliness is really important for diabetics with injuries in their extremities, even for healthy diabetics.

I also understand trying out disabilities in an effort to understand them. I have absolutely nothing against "walking a mile in someone else's shoes" for people to gain a better appreciation of the situations of someone else, whether it has to do with disabilities, poverty, race, and so on. it can be eye-opening, and lead to more understanding/compassion so I'm all for that. It's the feitishsization/"game" view of disabilities that bothers me. A disability isn't a fucking game, nor should it be a sexual turn-on, god damn it.

I know that BIID comes from funky brain wiring and people think they need to cut off a limb to feel whole, but I have to ask these people, does the struggle itself make you feel whole? If you want to remove your leg, think how fucked you're going to be if someone attacks you since you can't run. Want to become blind? Blind people can't drive, and have to depend on others for certain things. Want to cut off your arms? You won't be able to wipe yourself anymore. Dumbasses.

I'm fine with disabled people receiving support (welfare, nurses, etc) to help them with daily tasks in life or whatever else, depending on their disabilities, but if a person disables themselves on purpose, the the government shouldn't have to pay for the expenses related in taking care of these people. Then these retards can see how totally awesome being disabled is!!! /sneed

But sometimes it does just get away from the person, and once it starts it's really hard to stop it from progressing even with compliance. Even still, they're people who need limbs if these guys are having a fire sale.

Could you give me an example of this? I mean, I know it can sometimes be hard to manage diabetes, especially the more brittle kind, but if someone really cares about their health, then they will be compliant with what their doctor tells them and so on. It's not that much different from people with severe food allergies, or celiac disease, or whatever. If your diet has to be restricted so much, then yeah it sucks, and it's not fair, but if you care about your health, then suck it up.

I knew the amputee fetishization was a thing but I didn't realize that was what the term transabilism referred to.

Transabilist, transnigger, all the other tumblr terms, when I first see them I assume they don't actually mean anything, that they are either satire created by TiA types or some SJW randomly stringing words together to sound more convincing, but nope, it's an actual thing that people are referred to unironically. I guess "schizophrenic" wasn't specific enough?

I guess what I personally have seen is people who are diabetic who get some kind of infection or injury to the foot that leads to limb loss without like neglect or noncompliance being the only or primary cause.

Oh, these people have a disability, but it's NOT the one they want. Their disability is an extreme lack of gratitude for having a healthy, working body. The treatment might be therapy, some other mental health care, but it is NOT actually getting the disabled body they fantasize about.

This is blatantly a mental disorder. I recall reading about it once, but so long ago I can't recall the precise name of the disorder in question. However, I do know there is a legitimate medical disorder that causes people to hate their own body-parts - arms, legs, etc, and desire their removal. I believe there have been documented cases of such people hacking their own limbs off, or soliciting back-alley doctors for unsafe amputations. If somebody knows more about this than 'a few minor recollections from years ago', it'd be nice to get some confirmation on this theory.

Edit: By confirmation, I mean 'an actual medical journal' as opposed to Wikipedia. Not that I'm calling it factually inaccurate, it's just not the only source of info I like to cite.

Yes, heard of this one before and dive head into it because I simply couldn't believe it was actually a thing.
I know a thing or two about these kind of people, most of them are mentally ill so you really can't blame it all on them, but others are just stupid attention edgelords who thinks "If people see I'm disabled, they'll pay attention to me and I'll definetly score regardless of my horrible attitude!, pity sex is still sex!"
Also, ever heard of "Katawa Shoujo"? it was big in its time because of exactly this same reason but nowdays it's just "meh" at best because the hype died.

Anyway, encouraging something like this (losing a limb, or causing a disability on purpose) is bad, defending it is lolcow material indeed, but I guess we first need to find some worthy representatives of the later.
I remember I heard of one dude with this kind of thing, but believe it or not, asshole decided to do a whole 180° and deny all his past just because the lady he was dating was not into it and I think (it was kind of long ago and I haven't heard of him since then) he's still denying he was ever into it.

I don't get this. Why would anyone want to be disabled? I am hearing impaired and I wish I could hear things better because it is hard to communicate with people, hearing aids help but they don't replace natural hearing.

I can't imagine what it's like to be paralyzed or why people would want to be so.

Does Tumblr have ANYTHING worth keeping it around? All I've seen is nothing but a mess of fucking delusional people (mostly) under 20 all huddled together in a hugbox to play pretend. Hey, I get it, I'm still pretty childish, but I understand that my interests are childish and I restrict them properly until I can find an outlet for them. This? Fuck almighty. This is destructive.
I haven't see anything worth keeping around there. The kin stuff is just kids playing pretend, the trans stuff is just a bunch of entitled bored cunts wanting to be more *speshul*, the truly deviant border on pathological and at worst, risk their own integrity (social, psychological AND physical) just to be aroused or feel more *speshul*. It's looking at the truly disabled or the truly oppressed and finding that they have an amazing crack pipe to choke from. The crack pipe of moral indignation.
I've learned ages ago, even as a child, that being hard done against is the shit, especially when you're in a society such as modern day society you can rally those around you who are of generally higher conscience. Those who want freedom for all, and equality. I was bullied most of my school life. I got out of it. I survived. During those days it felt like a mighty struggle but now I realize that shit was easier than anything that I might face in the future. But I still felt hard-done by. What bullied kid didn't? And when it comes to feeling downtrodden, oppressed, theres a feeling. There's the whole promise that things will get better, that those doing the oppression are gonna get their shit REKT. I've always been told "they're jealous", "when you're out of school, you'll be the doctor, and they'll be coming to you", "they're gonna be on welfare! You're gonna be a shining star!" Almost every oppressed group has their little prophecy for the better days ahead and what's gonna happen to the enemy. They get killed, they get burned, they get tortured. They suffer after what they put you through. And since YOU'RE on the right side of history, the oppressed, you get the moral high ground. you get to suck on the crack pipe of moral indignation. And how sweet it is! Every individual that slanders you ends up getting their shit fucked up one way or another, and relegated to the dustbin of history. You stand tall, proud of who and what you are.
You see, these kids have no fucking clue how hard this shit is for anyone. How hard the struggle is. But you see, they want to feel good, they want the sweet high of the moral high ground. All they have to their own name is the ability to pretend like fucking kindergarteners. This is what tumblr is now. Junkies for the sweetest drug known to human kind, moral indignation. When it slips into your hands, noone's ever gonna be able to pry it away from you no matter how hard you try.

Ok, deep breaths, Jack. Had to let that out. I think I'm done for now.

Only thing worth keeping could funny images (website like Know Your Meme can keep you covered though) and Tumblr's that are legitimately good and not some sort of enabling/trendy/crazed idiocy. Really, this sort of thing along with the meth dating scene, shoplifting, and SJW idiocy makes Tumblr not worth keeping around. This transableism thing can without a doubt anger those that actually have a disability. @CalmMyTits gave out some thoughts to this (as mentioned above), finding this to be disgusting.

Tell me about it, I'm getting angry on their behalf already and I dont even make it a point do to that. There's really nothing beneficial on there that can't be preserved or found in other social media sites. the format may be slightly appealing but the content that's honestly endemic and unique is really the one thing that sours the fuckin thing for me.
