I have learned more about Taylor Swift from this thread then back when I was a fan back during my teenage years and she was still writing break up songs.
Everything I know about Taylor Swift, I learned from the Russell Greer thread.
Meanwhile most Trump supporters are sitting in their living rooms and probably willing to have a chat with these people over a beer or some Whose Line.
But the second you let them into your house they'll start shitting on your sofa, breaking your shit, and trying to light the drapes on fire because you're a Nazi and their righteous anger must be satisfied.
There is just no talking to them any more. Not even the older ones, who used to have some basic reasoning skills, common sense, and skepticism of the media, and who I could have talked with about our disagreements years before. Can't do it now; start pointing out an obvious lie in the media, or ask what they think of the big Middle East peace deal, and they get as agitated as the demented old man they're voting for. They're gone, and I don't know if they're ever coming back, or what will finally shock them out of it.
The young ones, though--I've generally liked older Millenials, and think they get a bad rap. But the younger Millennials and Zoomers are truly lost generations. Not every single one of them, mind you, but as a group? They're fucked.
He also cultivates some healthy habits very few people credit him for. He doesn't drink or smoke, and despite the jokes about him eating McD's every day, his diet seems to be pretty healthy. Add to that that he's a germaphobe, and unless he has a stroke or some other internal issue he should be hanging on for a while.
And before the TDS squad starts praying for that... let us all remember his father died aged 93 of pneumonia, and his mother died age 88 of... old age.
All that golf he plays, that the left constantly complains about? It gets him outside, engaged in physical activity in the sun and fresh air. Which is good for him anyway, but thanks to that I'll also bet he wasn't Vitamin D deficient when Corona-chan stopped by.
If I were a democrat, I'd be fucking livid with what had been done to my party.
Yeah, I fucking am. Especially after these last four years, when it's become patently obvious that not only did the DNC not learn a single goddamned thing from Trump's first victory, but they arrogantly assumed there was absolutely nothing they needed to learn. As far as they're concerned, it wasn't a failure of their message or candidate that cost them the election, but rather a moral and intellectual failure on the part of the voters who chose Trump instead.
Watching the DNC and its supporters in action these last four years has given me flashbacks to growing up with a Narcissist. They can do no wrong; the fault always lies with others; they engage in black-and-white thinking in which they are all good and their opponents all bad; they put their wants over others' genuine, expressed needs; and they will rewrite history, make up stories, and gaslight the fuck out of you if you question them.
So fuck 'em. I'm done.
