Gee, I dunno... How about looking at who will be most affected rather than locking down an entire country and causing issues?
Sure thing, who will be most affected:
Well, I for one live in a bunker with my own power supplies and plenty of food and antibiotics just in case, so I'll be okay. Let's talk about you, though:
Likely you live in a first world country, and I'm assuming that, like most, you depend on the power grid for your needs. This is pretty tough to do when not only do you run the risk of your employees dying, their families dying, or being extremely ill for several weeks, you'll have to find some new power sources. I wouldn't recommend solar right now, it's a bit too dark for that this time of year.
It's likely you have a car or atleast depend partly on some kind of transport, but with police numbers already dwindling, you probably won't need that so the fuel crisis as ships, a famously vulnerable place to any disease (even a bout of the shits can delay one for weeks) will be practically inoperable, assuming of course that Mohammad is okay and his lads are all fine with escorting your oil deliveries through his country.
Much of public infrastructure depends on taxes, which are also not being collected but I'm sure Mr Goldstein will cover it for you, just hand over your physical property to him. Sell off some of those national parks to Mr Goldstein and you'll be set for a week or two. Without the constant work, you'll start seeing roads closing more often and further delaying those trucks which have those condoms and lube you need to supply your degenerate lifestyle.
The police and the military for that matter, this depends on loyalty. I'd imagine officers in small town USA will be fine with sticking to their posts, but once those pay packets start shrinking and that police car stops getting fuelled so readily they won't be able to do shit. Especially given the nigger problem, American police are already quitting in record numbers, put the obvious increase in workload and decrease in pay onto that and you'll see a massive increase in "Officers ran away with half the armoury loaded into their cars" reports. Or, you won't, information is already breaking down hence the proliferation of retards on this thread. All the sharp cunts have been busy keeping prepped leaving only the stupidest behind.
The military would likely try to step in, but squaddies aren't coppers so it's only a matter of time before you have a few mass shootings by confused and scared 19 year olds with automatic weapons.
Food security depends both on the farms, which luckily seem to be alright (until they get sick and can't handle the whole workload, or farmer man tries his tractor while ill and runs a hole in his pig pen releasing hundreds of quarter-ton swine into the town) - the more obvious problems will be "How the hell can anybody afford these prices" - yes, once it starts kicking off, the price of agricultural goods will skyrocket as they become harder to transport. Fewer ships means fewer ways for the grain to be delivered, and this would increase the price a little. But the biggest would be that shrinking paypacket - it's already shrunk, atleast here in the UK, prices have gone up 10-20% while the pay has remained the same. I've lost up to 20% of my wages, and this will only get worse. This would happen in either situation in any crisis, though - hyperinflation is often caused by a physical crisis, like war.
All of this shit is why you're seeing politicians the world over looking tired as fuck, or in the UK's case, Johnson has dropped any attempt at speaking formally and half of what Cummings says is "uh.. uhm... ehm..." - this isn't what conspiracy looks like, this is what panicking looks like. They're panicked to fuck because there's no answer to any of it - you have the midwits and their shit like "Well why am I being punished" - because they're desperately trying to keep their taxpayers in a condition to pay taxes. They're not talking about morality or some shit, they don't give a fuck about you as a person, but they care deeply about your role in ensuring their continued power and therefor life. They're trying desperately to keep the tax money coming in, and that's hard to do during a pandemic.
Like I said, do you have any idea how bad a pandemic actually is? The illness for you is probably fine, but do you have any clue how complex world systems are? Very few people live sustainable closed lifestyles. This isn't like AIDS or some shit, it's a disease which can, at the bare minimum, put you out of work for a few weeks. That's all that's needed, accidentally feeding your cows the wrong feed can kill hundreds and destroy an entire industry, an epidemic of a disease which doesn't even affect humans can still kill millions. You've got to be a genuine retard to see "Pandemic" and think "Yeah, this is something we can handle" - in terms of disruption, without even commenting on the virus itself, a pandemic is similar in destructive capability to a nuclear war.
