One thing that people like Bob cannot understand is that when the government gets bigger, solutions to any problem are considerably slower, have higher chances of getting quashed and when someone fucks up, you usually cannot hold them accountable for their mistakes. That is arguably more desirable to people than a transtational cosmopolitan government because they get shit done in little time and when you want to complain or get some bureocratic mumbo jumbo done, you are most likely get it done in a few days instead of months.

It seems like Biden or his wranglers are realizing that a lot of his voter base were probably people who, on top of believing the "orange man bad" hype, took his calls for "return to normalcy" seriously. If this is true, they have to tread carefully his first term. Violent unrest, purgings, extended lockdowns, etc could destroy his reelection chances and cause a big red wave in retaliation. Antifa, Breadtube, and other far left agitators may soon find themselves left out in the cold...

The problem is COVID lockdowns are inherently abnormal. One we see and feel all the fucking time when going out to the grocery store. His legit supporters, assuming there are any, believe COVID is super AIDS that will turn them into explosive zombies. Thus, they will set a new normal where people wear masks all the time. Obviously, this state of affairs will not be normal regardless of how much cognitive dissonance they use. Also, in California, parolees can now vote. So expect to see even more Defund the Police rhetoric in similar states. Which, honestly, I'm starting to warm up to since the cops are the ones that arrest people for defending themselves.
