Sorry for late reply, been tard wrangling people freaking out over the election. But to answer your question, No I’m well aware, and it still doesn’t change anything. Let me give you some numbers that you can google to explain. The US military has 1.3 million active personnel and around 850k reserve, now compare that to Georgia alone. It has roughly 4 million fighting age adults, and 59k square miles a lot of that is wilderness and swamp. These are maximum possible figures for both granted, but it give perspective. Now before you, go “muh tanks and drones” we are talking about occupation not razing. That’s a boots on the ground game. So they are trying to occupy a massive, high wilderness area with an armed, well supplied, numerically superior and hostile population, who have been defying the government’s boogey men (IRS) for over 100 years.

I wouldn't say "muh tanks and drones." It hasn't served well in Afghanaland.

But Americans are not Afghans. They're almost all of them fat, effete bitches who break down and cry when the slurpee machine breaks. To be sure, there are a few with a will comparable to that of the Taliban, but even these have rarely been bred up under the sort of privation and short commons that create lean, wiry, unbreakable men. At any rate, the light dusting of actual tough men is not enough to create a savage guerilla force overnight, if ever. Furthermore, a Union occupation would find not a united, hostile alien country, but a few diehards poking about the woods, a great many highly indignant civilians ready to send a strongly worded letter to their congressman, and mostly indifferent, worried Americans wishing they could go back to the good old days, complying with US forces with at least some sense that they were doing their patriotic duty.

It didn't answer in 1865, and it has far less chance of working now. Secession might succeed against a crumbling power like USSR 1991 or against isolated, nearly friendless Serbia 1991-???, and it could certainly work against the limp-wristed acquiescence of 2014 Britain, but if the federal government as it exists today has will to keep a state in the Union, then so it shall.

Not 2024, but further and slower out. The momentum favors the republicans, as democrats can't really say they've done much except call republicans racist that has gone to the benefit of minorities - maybe if they force in workplace protections for LGBT, they'll claw back a miniscule amount (given that it was mostly the T whining about this). If democrats started doing things that actually benefited the populations they claim to champion, they could reverse the momentum - but as that's fairly unlikely, Repubs can keep cruising on their modest sentencing reforms and funding support of the historic black colleges and whatever while pointing to Kamala's record and keep up their stready dribble.

The republicans could also completely shit the bed and lose this trickling of support if they snap back to the 90s-00s neocon+fundamentalist coalition, admittedly. It'll all remain to be seen.

I'm thinking there have been definite shenanigans going on, because never in my lifetime watching elections have I ever seen large gaps close so quickly towards the end of so many vote counts in so many states. Biden supporters must not remember the 2000 election. Next time this thing happens, their team might be on the losing side.

That being said, if the powerful people in the Republican Party don't feel compelled to support Trump, nothing will happen.

We needed election reform 20 years ago, but nothing will happen.

That would violate the idea of secret ballots if ballots could be traced like that. They might have a serial for ballot numbering though.

CA for instance specifically forbids any identifying information that could trace a ballot.
