I'd like to think that Trump, being a terrible person, will know damn well this is not in fact a healing gesture but dangerous and irresponsible baiting of the 70+ million people who voted against him. Still, to be brutally honest, the 'healing the nation' ship has long since sailed and we're not on it. The shit is going to hit the fan whatever happens and the best we can hope for is good memes as it all falls apart.

I mean, they can try. The people saying this for red states have the same issues as the blue ones. The feds can enforce their laws, rather sternly. Every state needs federal aid for something... and not listening to the federal government is a good way to find out you get all your food from red states.

Right now? They're probably starting to come down off the high of the weekend. Trump's still in office. There are lawsuits flying everywhere. People are mocking them. The "Drumpsters" aren't copeing and breaking down into tears, they're mocking them and donating to Trump's election defense fund.

Twitter's given up on flagging shit for fact checking. Possibly because people noticed "Hammer + any word relating to voting" would trigger it.

Are they desperate? Not yet. They're confused. This isn't going how it's supposed to go. They "won." The other side is supposed to be emotionally devastated and give up. They aren't supposed to point out bullshit like 150,000 votes showing up in the middle of the night for Biden. They aren't supposed to be organizing rallies and marches in the streets. Math nerds are pointing out that the numbers are obviously faked -- that doesn't make sense, everyone knows all Republicans are STOOPID redneck fascist nazi racist bigot capitalists! They can't do math! They don't even accept htat 2+2 can equal 5!

People have mentioned Stage 1 2 and 3, with 2 being IIRC when Trump wins a lawsuit or flips a state, and IIRC 3 being when he flips to 270? We're still in early stage 1.

What you're seeing is the more narrative based ones -- the press -- realizing that the right isn't being demoralized by their tactics like they're supposed to be. They're pissed off. So instead, they're trying harder manipulation tactics including extortion and intimidation.

One of CNN's lead talents just posted on twitter the equivalent of "Sure is a nice life/career you have there, would be a shame if anything happened to it" to anyone questioning the election results. A little desperation bubbling up perhaps, combined with authoritarian fuckery.

It's all just the first steps towards "desperate." You'll know "desperate" when you see it. (Hint: It'll involve Antifa/BLM rioting and direclty targeting the StopTheSteal rallies or polling places to destroy evidence.)

BLM/Antifa won't go near the StopTheSteal folks, those guys will be either strapped with CCPs on them, or will beat the absolute shit out of them like whanever Portland went against any member of the right. They're an undisciplined hive that breaks the second someone threatens any of them. The Trumpers are more like bar room brawlers, focus on one and deck the fucker, then the next.

2020 has gotten moderates to understand just that.

Not quite, Stage 3 is when he flips Pennsylvania or gets a major win. Stage 2 SHOULD be now, when the lawuits drop and the worry sets in.
