While it sounds silly bone spurs are another thing that would disqualify you for service due to the issues it can cause while marching for long distances and such.

I know a guy who has a busted ankle with a fucked up tendon, when he was drafted and pointed that out to the doc, his answer was "Nothing a good pair of army boots can't fix".
Being able to dodge the draft due to bone spurs (that leave you strangely unaffected during prolonged golfing sessions) are just daddy paying a fat wad of cash so sonny-boy doesn't have to go to war like some peasant boy that grew up in the gutter. In the past, you had people lie in their application so they could join a war, Trump dodged his draft like a bitch and no handwringing will make that shame go away.

If the “bone spurs” are a valid reason to dodge the draft or not isn’t the point, it could be for all I care. My point is that Trump didn’t make fun of McCain for being an open racist or, like you said, a member of the Keating 5. He made fun of him for being a Vietcong prisoner of war in a war Trump himself didn’t even fight in and mocked his service because of it. When Trump did that, especially with how respected McCain was in Arizona, he shouldn’t be screaming for a recount because he lost a historically red state that should’ve been an easy grab for him.

I'm betting dollars to donuts, that didn't just piss off people from Arizona, it also pissed off a shitload of vets or family of vets, who became POWs.
