As I have stated several times, I have zero affiliation with the organizations that I've spoken of, I haven't been personally involved in any of these instances. I state at the beginning of each long post (story) that it's second hand information, to be done with as the reader chooses.
That said, while possibly chronologically incorrect, when a huge majority of the railroad world here in the Northeast all say essentially the same things about Shaner, I tend to give those stories a degree of weight. I was up at one of the shorter lines here in PA about a month and a half ago, and having not met any single one of these guys before, ALL begin telling me of all their own "Shanerisms." This was shortly after the banishment of Shaner from the Colebrookdale, and all of them related that it was the correct thing to do, and why in the hell didn't we do it sooner? A number of them live close to the Colebrookdale, and would have been more than happy to come and help out, but wouldn't because Shaner was there.
I said it before, and I'll say it again, if one person tells you that you're an asshole, they're the asshole. If an entire industry calls you an asshole, you may want to take note.
