Maybe Trump losing is actually the best thing that could happen to Carl. Many alt-right popped out during Banana years, so now with dems behind the wheel, right-leaning people will look for anyone to comfort them. On the other hand, YT can just ban him for all the old stuff.
I could see that.
Carl has just announced that he is closing his channels. Amusingly, the link to his new site in the video description leads to a 503 error

I wonder what prompted this decision?

Video is now private. I had a feeling that as soon he tried to launch the new site it would crash.

His main channel, Akkad daily and The Thikery are still up. Unfortunate cocaine binge?

Why does every YouTuber have a podcast? Did the trend start with H3?
I think it's all about Joe Rogan. Everyone talks about how he is one of the most influential people in media now and of course he just made the deal with Spotify. I think there is a really big (and understandable) desire for people like Carl to move the main body of his work away from Youtube and merely use it as a highlight reel platform to draw in new listeners.

His plan was always to leave Youtube once he had his own site. A pre-emptive moved in fear of his channels being yeeted.

My guess is a load of people clicked the link to his boomer site, the resulting traffic crashed it and so he hid the video until they can get it working again.

Sargon's new channel is up and so far it's just a podcast with two episodes poorly imitating the Timcast IRL format and the comments are all people complaining that the volume is too low. Sargon couldn't even be bothered to get a guest with some name recognition. Maybe I'm just a schizo but I think his quality has seriously dropped since he started his Akkad Daily account, and he really needs better guests or to stick to a scripted format. If only Sargon had some sort of weekly series he could do to pass the time he works on his special on the Crusades he was suppose to be doing months ago.

I want to laugh at Carl for what seems like a really terrible idea, but at the same time, I hate how the big tech monopolies completely dominate due to everyone's apathy so I feel compelled to root for him against the odds because at least he actually had the balls to try and move away and take his audience with him.

Setting up his own site was a retarded move though. He should've just moved everything to Bitchute. He already has a base of subscribers to build on there (he's one of the largest channels on the site) and he wouldn't have to deal with his site crashing because it's probably on some podunk server that can only handle a couple thousand people.

Have they explained why they named themselves after the group of people in the Odyssey that were literally sheeple?
Wikipedia said:
In Greek mythology the lotus-eaters (Greek: λωτοφάγοι), were a race of people living on an island dominated by the lotus tree, a plant whose botanical identity (if based on a real plant at all) is uncertain. The lotus fruits and flowers were the primary food of the island and were a narcotic, causing the inhabitants to sleep in peaceful apathy. After they ate the lotus they would forget their home and loved ones. Those who ate the plant never cared to report, nor return.

Figuratively, 'lotus-eater' denotes "a person who spends their time indulging in pleasure and luxury rather than dealing with practical concerns".

No, apparently Sargon is going to explain it tomorrow in some "intro"
its probably going to be "the people we talk about/ are trying to get to join the cause are the lotus eaters who are ignoring the pressing issues" even though usually titles of podcast shows usually refer to the hosts rather than guests or topics.

Either way deleting his sargon stuff is dumb, he will kill off his online presence leaving only his days as ukip man for public record. The transfer will probably only keep like 50% of his active audience.

Having a podcast is easier than doing sketch videos or even video essays. And if you're focusing on interviews it's extremely low effort but an effective way to spread your brand to whatever audience the guest has. That's why so many of these people liked debates and bloodsports, you can see immediate subscriber increases in the thousands sometimes. Problem is, it's way easier to hurt your brand that way. So instead it's friendly chats where often the guest carries the entire show.

It'll take 3 and a half minutes to explain and the top comments will be fans praising it's incongruence as high art.

Should've gone with 'the Swindon wankers'- that's at least memorable. I've been reading every comment in the thread and it took me until your post for me to realise my subconscious was reading the name as 'Locust eaters'. How does Carl not see how much of a self-own this is?

The man had 6-ish years to come up with a rebranding beyond Sargon and the best he could do was an homage to history's first bugmen? What a dick.
