True, but part of me also wonders if the Woke Left would've still emerged the way it did if Gore had won the 2000 election? I really do think the SJW culture of the 2010's and the Woke Left formed under a perfect storm of conditions with the two biggest catalysts being the Great Recession and the Bush Administration's policies that blended neoconservatism with traditionalist moral conservative rhetoric.

The Great Recession helps explain why the Woke Left is largely a trend among Millennials and older Zoomers and why they're inclined toward socialism and anarcho-communism.

But a lot of the IdPol stances initially emerged as a reaction to the stances of the Bush era American right both directly and indirectly. Critical Race Theory and intersectionality had their origins in postmodern and Marxist dominance of academia but I think the Millennials were especially susceptible to it because not only did they go to college more than any generation before them, but also a lot of them came in with a huge chip on their shoulder when it came to the Religious Right and the Neocons, especially if they grew up in the Bible Belt or in a morally conservative household.

Based on his recent tweets, I think he might be trying to give an impression of doing one thing, but doing something else behind the scenes to create a red herring for the media to focus on. This isn’t to say that Trump doesn’t care about what he’s saying, but I think he’s keeping his actual plays a secret from the media. One thing I’ve noticed about Trump is that he’s great at getting the media to focus on something different while he’s getting the work done behind the scenes (such as the wall project). I could be wrong, but Trump doesn’t seem like the type to lay out all of his plans at once due to media interference.
