Problem is, if you never have a natural puberty (due to blocking it with GnRHa drugs from tanner stage 2) there aren’t any usable gametes TO store.
And what are you going to do with a defrosted egg if your uterus is in a hospital pedal bin already? Even if you can afford a third world surrogate you have to transport the frozen gametes, in ideal surrogacy situations egg retrieval and IVF happens at the same clinic as embryo transfer. Maybe you’ll be lucky and a friend or sibling will be your incubator, but why should someone else risk their health because you willingly gave up your own fertility to troon?
And if an MtF wants to use a surrogate, they need to have had the foresight to do all the right pre-tests, because sperm saved with the intent of being used with a future partner isn’t subject to the same regs as surrogacy sperm. I suppose you might find a woman stupid enough to marry a post troon out AGP, but if a straight woman is looking for relationship that is likely to lead to kids, a troon is surely at the bottom of the list? Plenty of men out there who can knock you up without the expense and indignity of a Dr with a clinical turkey baster. Women need to take huge amounts of head and body fucking hormones before attempting motherhood with Mx Frosty because defrosted sperm is a bit rubbish compared to fresh, fuck knows what it will be like after 10 or 15 years in a deep freeze. Best be prepared for a baby with the ‘tism
The troons go on about storing gametes all the time, but no one really talks about what’s actually going to happen WITH those gametes.
(Surrogacy is shitty anyway, IMO, hiring women’s wombs is prostitution only worse, because it makes babies into a purchasable product and robs them of knowing their own mother. In every other circumstance people bang on about how important breastfeeding is and how the post partum period is a 4th trimester and how babies are soothed by their mothers smell and heartbeat. Fuck, social services even try and keep crack whores and their babies together if support and supervision can be arranged, but if Elton John and his toy boy husband buy a designer baby, rainbow flags are hoisted on the hospital roof and all the best interest of the baby stuff is chucked straight out of the window)
Shit though the Tavi seems to have been, they do at least complete a multi session psychosocial evaluation before prescribing anything (blockers from tanner 2/3 - which can be as young as ten, according to evidence in Keira Bell’s judicial review and hormones officially from 16, although I think it will eventually come out that some kids have had them from 14-15).
Whereas Helen Webberley of GenderGP was prescribing testosterone (a steroid with controlled drug status) to 12 year old girls, despite having no relevant professional specialisms and prescribing after a single online evaluation. For all I know, still IS prescribing cross sex hormones to 12 year olds now, just registered from their Spanish holiday home. Those girls will almost definitely be sterile.
