Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I heard many people say this. if it were haberkorn or someone lesser to begin with, they could of steam rolled the entire XY department of the industry. but seriously WHERE the FUCK is their outrage for slime balls like Sabat, Toye, and the legion of shot heads who are giggling with villainous delight?
Those NUTJOBS have successfully either gaslit or blackmailed enough people that like the rest of the SAG AFTRA morons, no one has enough balls to say three simple words without fear of retaliation or blackballing: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Sociopolitical motivations. Same reason why Schemmel, Douglas, Sabat, and Toye got stuck up for by the same people that witch-hunted Vic, Todd, Jim, JYB, Robbie, Quinton, and Derek.

That pathetic dirty foursome are "some of the good guys." They are "rightthink."
So sorry to hear people like Jamie Marchi have been having trouble finding work. Now it looks like rona chan is going to finish off what's left of the convention scene. So tragic.
It literally couldn't happen to a nicer person. I'm fully convinced Funimation only cast her in Cautious Hero and Monica in Uzaki-chan out of pure spite and nothing else.

"Nonbinary trans."
Opinion discarded.
Look, it's not my job to judge these people, that's in God's purview and grace. That said, what is this non-binary stuff?

I mean you're born male, female or (rarely) with both incomplete sets [true hermaphroditism, where there are two fully functional sets, are extremely rare] .

So hear me out, whether you're assigned a gender in infancy, born as a male/female, get reassignment surgery or "identify" as a sex, aren't you by any measure binary? I mean if you're trans, aren't you by definition identifying as one sex in deference to the other?

Obviously, the one exception would be a true hermaphrodite that retains both fully functional sets. But otherwise, you'll be one or the other.

Anyone able to clarify this for me? Maybe I'm too much of a boomer to get it. I'm not digging on anyone, I'm seriously wondering how you can say you're sis, trans or identifying as a sex and then use the term "non-binary".

but I say, justice delayed is justice denied - especially in the social media age where you are determined as guilty forever within 72 hours of any kind of bullshit.
In a general sense, yeah, 72 hours is an eternity in the Internet Age, but in this case I don't think it's impacted much. If anything the notoriety has raised his online profile. I think the people that hated him before still hate him now, the people that loved him still love him and most others don't care. And "luckily" for Vic, there's no cons in 2020 so the impact on him there is basically zero because he wouldn't have done any anyway. If anything, this is the perfect time for him to pivot to Twitch or something and just leave that whole scene behind anyway.

And I'm sure he was blackballed from this summer's online cons like AX20 and (obviously) FuniCon.

To be fair, he hasn't been invited to AX since 2014. He did an off location signing in 2018 for Funi which was not a con affiliated event, but he was there in 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010, 2008. and 2006. There's a good chance he's unofficially/not publicly blacklisted if he was there almost every year then suddenly stopped getting invited.

No. You get it. The modern world is full of fucking lunatics. Welcome to hell. Laugh while you still can.

Roses are red
Nick is a grifter
Nothing changed during these two years

I wonder why I keep following this thread since it's almost the same subjects every week or so, please enlighten me kiwis.
I've said it multiple times, and I'll say it again: The true victory in all this is the cows we met along the way. They keep mooing. People keep laughing. 'Tis the way of the Farms. Or do you not think there hasn't been plenty of laughs garnered from all this?

Nobody gives a shit about the American guests at AX. If you go to that zoo, you go for the Japanese guests they've flown in every year since 1992 (technically '91 since Anime Con was "proto AX," and is considered such by the SPJA).

Edit to add:

By your own weird logic, Chris Sabat is "unofficially blacklisted" since he was there in 2013, 15, 16 and 17, but not after 17.

The more reasonable explanation is that American VAs are not the main draw at AX, and they spend their guest budget accordingly. It was that way even in the late 90s, early 2000s, when I attended.

Is Vic blacklisted from AX? I dunno. After this shitshow, maybe. I'm extremely doubtful they added him in '14 though.

Non-binary means neither of their parents were good role models and they were essentially raised by an internet community so full of LARPers that they never developed the capacity to understand life in a medium where one is incapable of controlling/altering everything through a few clicks of a button and a willingness to believe.

A lot of good reasons have been given already so I'll just add a few more reasons to the list: Gender/sex is patriarchal, people want to pretend to be special and look for more reasons to feel "oppressed," they feel genders don't actually exists, and there is more stupid reasons but I can't remember everything stupid people do.

His job was to do his job. Not to say "fuck you do my job for me." That's a basic lack of competence and an utter disregard for the rights of the parties, including Vic who has been hammered with "17-0 squawk" for a fucking year because Chupp couldn't bother coming up with a ruling that is better than something a lazy high schooler would have flunked with. At least he showed himself incompetent to be on the appeals court that he lost the election to, and will at least continue to be fucking up cases at the trial court level than people's appeals.
Fucking this. How anyone can blame Ty for doing a poor job representing Vic when this stupid judge purposely refused to do his and treated TCPA like a trial is beyond me. What makes me angrier is the same people who said Vic had no case and mocked him with the idiotic 17-0 bullshit said he should’ve picked a better lawyer, which is essentially them admitting that Vic should have passed TCPA. So they knew that he had a case, but lost because of a lazy judge.

Oh well. Karma proved to be bitch since Chupp lost in a similarly embarrassing fashion at the appeals election, proving that God exists and does punish people for bad deeds. Idiots do get what they deserve after all.

Oh hey our pfps match

Non binary and queer do not exist. People just use them to stand out. Its kinda sad they retort to this
Just say you like men or women or both or you wanna change your gender. Stop with this they them it shut lol. (Not you just saying in general)

I was just thinking about something do the NY VAs still do stuff? Marc Draision, Kevin T Collins, etc?

They did as late as 2018.

I think the "NY scene" is a lot smaller these days. It didn't help when CPM collapsed in 2009 (to which I add, they will not be missed).
