General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

FGO player since 5 years ago, you get used to it or become insane
That’s the thing, I was already juggling like 5 gachas before I dived into the hole. I was already mindbroken, but something about knowing the EN girls’ fucked backgrounds triggers my autism fierce. So it pisses me off when people nonchalantly ask for forbidden knowledge that shouldn’t given freely.

Guess I finally understand why filtering chanlets and lurking is so goddamn important to the thread. If you know you know and all that.

Moona left a gift for Pekora in Minecraft telling her boss how much she misses playing Minecraft with her:

It’s still live so you’ll have to wait to rewind, but Pekora saw the gift at the beginning of her stream and spent some time deciphering the note that came with it before leaving her own present and letter:
Update: Moona found the gift, read the letter and loved it, and they even met up and made plans to build something together next time.

It's odd to me that Hololive would take the risk of having their entire EN cast be previously online personalities with multi-year histories and recognizable voices/talents. Maybe they decided to take a different approach with the western targeted audience, but given how they are all forbidden to speak of their past personas and it's such a taboo on the JP side of things I find it interesting that they'd essentially sit next to a landmine.

Personally I don't see the appeal of digging up their past personas unless it's directly relevant to something happening with their current persona, but I'm not going to get triggered over someone doing it. I wouldn't expect something like someone hiding behind a VTuber avatar to remain a secret for long unless they somehow had no previous internet history whatsoever.

Maybe Yagoo saw videos of their fat tittys and didn't want to say no

I'm pretty sure the preqrequiste for HoloEN was a decent sized online presence already, whether streaming, art, etc.
This is correct, it's been heavily preferred since after Gen 2 (I think) that people auditioning for Hololive have preestablished online presences and experience in 'content creation' of some kind. Doesn't have to be MASSIVE followings, mind you, but they just wanna see that you know how to stream, make/edit videos, maintain a schedule, interact with a fanbase, and be entertaining.

And being a natural born woman, thing that some circles absolute hate to be reminded that they are never going to be, yes there were shitload of troons that auditioned for Myth and every single one of them were btfo

Speaking of retiring, Lulu has retired (though considering this is Nijisanji and that fact that she has a dedicated overseas fanbase, she could come back). Ars Almal has picked up the torch left by Lulu due to a small amount of hardcore overseas fans and one turbo autist as a translator.

Aside from the usual chink hijinks, this thread had been so wholesome that I sometime forget I'm an evil person for using kiwifarms, so here's something to stir the pot. A story told in two part, a love story span between two company. The romeo and juliet of our time (not really).

For those who weren't in the know, matsuri was pretty into hoshikawa back in the day. Invited her to a cruise date and bought a gift and everything. However that didn't really go anywhere. The general consensus was that she got rejected. This used to cause a problem where a small number of matsuri fans would come to hoshikawa stream and demand her to stop collab with matsuri, because it "hurt" her. That's water under the bridge now and the two seem to be close friend after matsuri moved on to luna. As you can see in the first clip, matsuri still make advances towards hoshikawa and got shut down in record time, but the general consensus (or cope, depending on which part of the internet you're talking to) is that it's made in good fun for entertainment. It rubs a lot of people who take this way too seriously the wrong way, because hoshikawa is a brat. Her character is a brat and she acts like a brat. The way she make a mockery of matsuri actions might seem overly cruel to some. I find it funny.

Matsuri might be serious, or she might just playing her lesbianism up to eleven for fanservice. Either way, even those deep into the lore was pretty okay with how thing wrapped up, with matsuri being rejected on the account of hoshikawa being straight. Even though matsuri came out with the short end of the stick here, all save for the most lunatic know that hoshikawa doesn't own her anything, life goes on. That is, until the offline collabs shown in the two above clips. Hoshikawa showing off the earings matsuri gifted her during their date which makes matsuri so happy her avatar died for several seconds, and the tee tee continues even though matsuri continue to be rejected and mocked. Then mere hours later, hoshikawa scientifically demonstrated that spaghetti were straight until it wet and so was her, by french kissing gundou on live stream with thousands of audience watching, while presumably wearing that same pair of earing that matsuri got her on their first (and only date). TLDR: PAIN PEKO.

This is for entertainment purpose only, so I only brought up what their character shown publicly, and not discuss any rumors behind the scene. IRL drama concerning vtubers just pissed people off, but I live for this kind of in character drama. Seriously, all those anime studio should just stop whatever they're doing and make an ova of this plot.

She took an extended break for one month but is still active on twitter (as active as her usual that is) and other program such as lizelulu listen and collabs. She just said on twitter that she will comeback on the 28th this month.

Lulu as in Suzuhara Lulu? Where did you learn she's retiring from?

Edit: Guy above answered my question before I even posted, damnit.

AFAIK It's not kayfabe and Matsuri is actually struggling with being gay IRL and "falling for her friends," as her roommate's socials have talked about it on numerous occasions the past several months (once even in a tear-filled audio post at like 3AM JP time). It does genuinely seem to hurt her and distract her, especially this sorta-kinda emotional rollercoaster she's been on with Luna. I'd assume part of the reason why she has such a hard time with it is due to the fact that Alphabet People don't have much sense of community nor social reprieve over in Japan like folk in the West do.

HoloJP gen 5 fits your description too. Mind you it didn’t turn out so well for Aloe :( , but I like to attribute that to JOP antis being more autistic.

Kiara just announced her first single being released on the 26th and previewed the chorus for everyone. Sounded very anime OP style. Was pretty good.
