Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Am the only one that gets tired of living in a world that expects you to be kind and civil to it when it clearly doesnt deserve it?
I snapped at my sister for leaving the sink open and probably costing us more for the water bill in the end of the month...I feel like my patience is practically dead at this point.

I feel like Palpatine in that Robot Chicken sketch where the troopers keep hailing him until he gets so fed up with everything he begins to insult each one non stop.

I started off tolerant of the world even before the masks, then I remained tolerant, they dont know any better.

A year later and I want everyone who is wearing masks like their lives depend on it in their cars and the outdoors to "Go fuck yourself!!". The ones that wave me hi get the same treatment, Im TIRED of being nice to these people even tho they dont deserve it. Everytime I wake up, I just know it wont get any better until I return to my room. Its just going to be more stress, more government thugs harassing me for money they dont deserve it, more stacking bills, diminishing returns because illegal aliens fucked over my restaurant's clientel. And more and more talks about how we are all evil for not wanting another lockdown and how more people are getting sick and thus we need to give up MORE freedoms.

And the jackasses around me clap like retarded seals.

And more and more I start to see where psychopaths are coming from when they begin "hunting"...they are all lambs so why not give them a lamb's slaughter?

I was raised to be good, kind and civil to a world that has proven constantly that it doesnt deserve it.

To be fair, cops need at most a restructuring (as many organizations and government branches need as well) and reorganizing so they can separate the garbage from the decent and try to work things out from there.
Cops are to protect and serve the PEOPLE, not the elites! If the elites are the enemies of the people, the police should be their enemy as well.

But Im sure that was made when "By the people for the people" actually meant jack in this world.
Like everything, policing has become a business. Almost no one nowadays joins the force because they feel like they can help the helpless. They are only looking forward to their next paycheck and power rush as they arrest someone not wearing a mask in front of their kids as they beg for them to stop hurting their parents.

The left want the police to be their gestapo, simple as that. You dont see the gestapo arresting their fellow nazis, do you? Or the KGB. Either way, their own "secret police" that serves them and them only.

Any cop that actually joined to help people should be quitting in protest, not only because they dont want to defend their fat cat superiors but because they arent fighting for the people anymore. Oh and their politicians actively support the murder of cops, even the ones that didnt do anything to anyone. I would quit...probably realize that "I didnt sign up for this", tell my boss off and begin to focus on a new career path asap.

The concept of cops need to be "undone" and "rebuilt" properly from its ashes, not the way leftists way of course. The way that they actually serve the people.
Homie, you need to take a long-ass break from the internet. If you drown in corona and BLM news too much you will go crazy, and it looks like you're already pretty far down that path.

I mean this with all the love cuz I see where you're coming from, but you gotta completely unplug for like two weeks. Read some (paper) books, go on a few hikes, meditate, cuddle your inner child, whatever. Reset your shit before you completely lose it.

I had an 89 year old Great Aunt pass away a month or so ago. She got COVID-19 during the summer, but was able to kick it. I don't know exactly what all she had but last year she was going great for her age, got hurt, and then everything went downhill. I think her official COD was heart-related.

So yes I'm terrified of a virus that couldn't kill a tiny 89 year old woman with other health problems. I'm sure her having had COVID this year didn't help but it wasn't the final nail.

He owns a restaurant. I work in tech so all of this doesn't really affect me but like a lot of Americans Handsome Jack here could lose everything.

His panic is justified.

Australia goes full circle and becomes a prison colony again...

Also, look at that c*** who asked the question.
Imagine being married to a mask nazi who tattles on you to the government (and takes the opportunity to call you stupid in a viral tweet) just to win an argument and keep you from walking your dog.

I'm not saying it's not justified, I'm saying get off the internet for a minute since you're clearly on the precipice of a genuine mental breakdown. It's a bad situation. Don't make it worse by stewing in mental anguish and internet rageposting 24/7.

Coronavirus vaccine won’t mean end of public health measures, Fauci says

It is not yet clear what impact vaccines may have on transmission

-start-

As several coronavirus vaccines inch closer toward FDA approval, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert has called on the public to double down on public health measures. Dr. Anthony Fauci, in a virtual discussion with The Hastings Center on Thursday, said the eventual vaccine is meant to protect the individual from getting sick from the coronavirus, but may not prevent that person from spreading the virus to others.

Fauci, when discussing Pfizer and Moderna’s results in clinical trials, explained that the vaccines are being evaluated to see if they prevent clinically apparent disease in the individual, and also to see if it prevents severe disease in a person who was inoculated. However, it is not yet clear what impact the vaccines may have on transmission.

“We have the same issue with influenza,” Fauci said, noting that the two coronavirus vaccines are far more effective than the seasonal flu vaccine. “You can get vaccinated with influenza and you won’t get sick, but it won’t necessarily prevent you from getting infected – although you won’t know you’re infected because you’ll either get mild or no symptoms.”

The same concept applies to the eventual COVID-19 vaccine, he said.

“The issue is that you’re not going to be completely protected against a degree of infection that you might not even notice that you might be able to spread to others,” he said. “Which is the reason why the message you may have heard me say over the last couple weeks in the media is that getting vaccinated with a highly efficacious vaccine does not mean that you’re going to abandon completely public health measures.”

Much debate over mask-wearing and whether it’s beneficial to the wearer or is helpful in stopping the spread has divided the country, particularly as states reenter lockdown modes. Fauci said the public health measures, which include social distancing, avoiding large gatherings, and frequent handwashing should be routine until the level of virus in the community becomes minuscule so that the risk of infection is no longer a threat.

Communication, especially as the issues become politically polarized, has been especially difficult Fauci said, adding that part of the challenge when implementing a public health policy is that it has to be an “all in this together” effort. With recent polls suggesting a decent amount of vaccine hesitancy across the nation, it doesn’t indicate that mass vaccination efforts will be a particularly easy effort.

“What we need to do, in a very clear, understandable way, is explain and I try to do this as often as I possibly can – that the speed [of vaccine development] itself is a reflection of scientific advances,” he said. “In other words, the technology of making a vaccine is not your grandfather’s technology – it’s the 21st century technology.”

He added that the federal funding and billions of dollars invested at-risk for development and pre-manufacturing orders have helped speed up the timeline by months if not years.

“Speed has nothing to do with compromising safety or scientific integrity,” he said.

As of Thursday, the U.S. had tallied over 11.6 million cases of coronavirus, and more than 251,000 deaths.

I find it positively hilarious the same people who complain about "income inequality" and demand we do something about the 1% are the same people who are the biggest supporters of lockdowns and restrictions that are causing among the greatest transfers of wealth to the elite in history.

But most of these people are pretty stupid since they believe that raising the minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour and instituting UBI is all you need to end wealth inequality.
They keep repeating that the government should take the elite's money and use it to pay everyone to stay locked down. As if, the government and the elite are fine with the current arrangement where governments restrict the plebs and the elites get richer due to it.

For all their apparent concern about income inequality they do seem very in favor of things that'll destroy the middle class. Because it's all good as long as the lower class gets gibs and free stuff, right?

You knew this was going to happen. If they're going to "reopen" the country, it will be very, very slowly. And there will probably be permanent measures taken to "prevent it from happening again" (just like 9/11, right?)

Wow, that made me wonder. What happens when someone tries to light a mask on fire in a plane? Will TSA make you take your mask off to go through the checkpoint? But then you spread the rona.

You guys are going to love reading the reactions to this guy's post.

Also, somebody has probably asked this but I think it bears repeating. Does anyone here know of any non-Western country pretty much having Coronavirus Derangement Syndrome? That is, are they having the same sort of lockdowns we in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, etc. are?

Journalists: "Why won't those gullible idiots wear masks like we keep telling them?"

Also Journalists: "Women can have penises, the entire East coast will be under water by 2010, and the BLM protests are peaceful. Also, pay no attention to prominent Democrats ignoring their own rules about masks."

Nothing like getting a condescending lecture on the virtues of Cooperate by someone wearing a t-shirt which says, "I DEFECT IN PRISONER'S DILLEMAS!"

I assure you Im fine. I will admit I was rather reactive and a venting a bit too much but please understand this has been a particularly harsh week on us, tho if it makes it any better, things did look up slightly (I wont go into details but know we may not be paying that insane amount of cash anymore because of some..."not legal" measures).

Besides, I feel like I offer a rather unique insight on this world wide event. The small-medium business owners that are being tortured and killed by the combined efforts of the government and mega corporations to reafirm their grip of their pathetic monopolies.

Trump needed to fire his ass back in May.

Fauci is an elitist scumbag of the highest degree.

Especially in Muslim countries since in some nations the female population is already wearing a "face covering". The only thing I remember is when members of Iran's political and religious leaders tested positive back in early spring.
