General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

EN numbers to stay high indefinitely because the demand for English-speaking Holos is currently being sated.
There is a difference between Indies and Brand empowered ones like the Hololives, its not being sated because people will stick for what is good instead of ending in the Domo cabal with their tranny sharks

What? Please provide proofs, because this is the first I'm hearing of this.
The thread jokes that the ENs visit, and Risu confirmed she lurks, but Mori. Oh god, Mori. It's an in-joke that all of her antis are her shitposting because she doesn't believe in her own success. Here's what I got:

TThere’s a specific bit in the podcast. Even though it was like a month, 2 months old, when talking about people making up shit about her she says “They’re grasping at straws, its all they have. They write these stories because that’s all they have.” Exact phrasing.

During the lethal league collab with Ina she uses the term narrative 3 times within 20 seconds. Does it on her solo streams sometimes as well. Even though its not a fancy word, I haven't seen it used ANYWHERE else.

Her Mad Rat Dead stream. “Are the rats ogey?” This was before ogey/rrat breached containment (about a week ago); its still not common, but it exists on those platforms now.

Calling /jp/ the special place thanking an akasupa.

The "I KNEEL" meme from her after-concert stream with Kiara and Kokorobeats. I wasn't on the threads at the time, but its a prevalent phrase to post/meme whenever you get blown out, ironically or no. Hasn't breached containment as far as I can tell, having browsed Reddit, fb and twitter.

On the name drop, Secret Neighbor EN collab "I'm here, Karen - I mean, Kiara's here" when Ina shoots Ame while she's trying to save Gura from Kiara, and her Crash stream, "Get it together, Karen." Don't got a timestamp for those, but the thread went nuclear. Girl doxxes herself like no other.

Hell, there's a 2014/2015 screenshot of Demondice saying she's been to 4chan, and we all know there's bleedthrough between her two personas given the dice roll sound effect at the end of Please Rip.

Edit: Is the Autistic reaction meant to be a compliment or an insult here? Asking for a friend.

Say what you want about the rest of them but Watson is the perfect girl, Salty, bad at bideo games, would make fun of your small pee pee even if it dwarfed her and most importantly she could shitpost better than 95% of the people here.

Boys want the shark
Gentlemen want the priestess
But sick degenerate fucks like us should go after the little shit gremlin who'll stab you in the knees.

Listening in on AZKi's Festival. There's has been quite a few MVs with the avatars fully animated. The one playing as I'm making this is Amoka; very nice voice, but I was not expecting that kind of pitch or song from an anime bunny girl in pajamas and slippers.

You're being rated autistic because you and Promestein are the biggest containment breakers here by further spreading chan shit instead of only using it as a resource.
Hope you're not the kind of person who thinks it's okay because you're more of a 'real fan' than a redditor or a Facebook seamonkey.

The demand being sated that I'm referring to *is* HoloEN. The leaf simp war ending is demonstrative that it won't and can't go on forever.

By that rule them the next logical step is HoloESP and i will burn Cover to the ground if that happen

Should I start responding with a simple “Check the archives” then?

I keep everything from the chans on the chans, with the exception of this site.

You...really shouldn’t, as she was raped by a pedo manager who she jailed, and was then forced from the idol industry with the help one really dedicated anti. Joking about that stuff is distasteful at best.

Not to be a drama whore, but I don’t think you’re taking it as serious as you should. I’ve namedropped the thread and the date of the disaster enough that you can find it yourself if you really want to know. It happened, it’s over, all of the thread remembers that time. If you care enough to dig that deep, then congrats. You get the deets.

Ina’s been doing priestess reps for about ten years now, don’t think Vtubing as a hobby is going to ruin her grind. Kiara’s doing her thing full-time, same with Ame.

How big of an oopsie are we talking? Like an on-stream thing or a major yab? Cuz I’m pretty sure that already happened, with the month-old podcast and all. For minor things, Calli keeps confirming she lurks 4chan for whatever goddamn reason. And namedropping herself.

I mean Amelia and Gura already have the twitch kiddie market covered, you actually can’t read anything from their chats at normal speed because of the spam. Coco’s chat spams to drown out the bugs, Ame and Gura’s chat spam as a side effect of their sheer size and audience. The podcast to EN is what EN was to General regulars, honestly.

But yeah no she needs to fucking stop with the ratking shit. That is unironically too far.

Ame got sick of Connor being spammed by her chat and used it as a new banword after the stream he popped up in, that’s as far as it goes I believe. Unless shit’s happened while I was asleep.
Wait where is the evidence our chicken was defiled?

The EN branch has opened the floodgates for the reddit and twitch tards to engage with the medium, and like @Mister O. said earlier:
A handful of HoloJP members are having increasing issues with overseas EOP fans, such as Aqua getting visibly upset at the "onion" spam, and Marine deciding to kill her 'boomer' and 'horny' memes because she's a bit fed up with being perceived as one-dimensional (side note, imagine thinking of the all-rounder entertainer that is Houshou Marine as one-dimensional).

Opening floodgates to even more "normies" will exacerbate this kind of behavior, and few to none of them will be willing to take time to learn proper stream etiquette when interacting with a content creator from an entirely different culture and subgenre, we see it already every day. Not saying they're all bad, because they aren't, but the ratio of "rabid meme-of-the-week spammer/tourist" to "normal person who wants to learn and be a good-mannered fan" has got to be at least 10:1.

We'll see how it plays out though, I'm not optimistic, but I'm willing to be proven wrong, and will be happy if I am.

The EN members are having the side effect of annoying/hurting the experience of the JP members simply by association. The people who are engaging with the EN members en masse are the same people who think someone like xQc is entertaining. To them loud = funny and every shitty meme needs to be repeated 1000x in chat until the streamer reads your comment.

All of the Hololive girls, especially the EN ones, should put their stream rules from the description in their pre-stream "loading screens" if they don't already. Not that that would help much, but anything is better than nothing.

It's funny to me that Calli is taking the opposite route Pewdiepie took. He knew his audience would be the most autistic attack force if he mentioned a favorite girl so kept quiet to keep them from spamming. Yet Calli is going out of her way to make the audience of huge creators like Critical aware of them and causing floods of old memes that have worn out their welcome to be spammed again.

I was never really interested in the EN branch as a whole, because knowing western entertainment these days I was expecting the worst. The only one I've a remote interest in is Gura simply due to her past as Senzawa. It's probably just the weeb in me, but EN VTubers in general just feel kind of off whenever I watch them, and it just doesn't click with me.

We do know that Cover established a legal entity in the US, so it might stand to reason that they also now have "offices" and legal entities in Canada...and maybe now even Austria? (Maybe Kiara will just continue to be "employed in Japan" from a legal standpoint.)

That's got to cost a good bit too.
Just FYI, incorporation costs in Canada are minimal unless you decide to spring for Bay Street firms for some reason, and even then it's still likely to be negligible (a few $k at most).

Should I start responding with a simple “Check the archives” then?

For what it's worth, I'm inclined to believe that telling someone to "do their reps" is the epitome of "chan shit" within @Cheetahman's meaning. Not that I'm advocating for spoonfeeding per se, but I think there's a reason people would rather discuss things here than on /jp/.

The existence of vtuber blackpillers is utterly bizarre to me. The world is not going to end if you weren't out in front declaring the decline and fall of whatever. Just enjoy the cute anime girls making funny sounds, and if things fall apart later that's fine and you can move on to other things to enjoy. Robbing yourself of the ability to be happy in the present over mights and maybes that aren't directly related to your ability to meet your basic needs is retarded.

Hm, alright. I just figured that since Gravemind seemed like an okay guy and was genuinely shocked at Calli lurking that I should compile the evidence. I can stop doing it from hereon out if it’s an actual problem.

Already the rules of not chitchatting with other people on stream is very annoying. I like it more when a livestream chat is a free land otherwise what's the point? I already feel that I'm being watched on streams for what I say and close to a banhammer if I do anything else other than tell girls I love them and they are great. The feeling of being constantly monitored by autist mods and fans for wrong-speak and rule violation feels very totalitarian and opposite of fun.

I think Hololive's take on the chat is that you're supposed to be interacting with the streamer, not the other viewers. It keeps the chat from being cluttered by conversations that could devolve completely away from anything relevant to the stream.

I'd rather a locked down chat like they currently have than the unrestrained garbage that you see on Twitch. Just watch the chat of anyone on twitch with comparable viewers to the Hololive girls, the chat becomes completely unreadable in very short order.

Edit to avoid double post:

I'm just happy I found them now and I'm watching in the golden age and not finding old translated clips after 3 years if things happen to fall apart.
It would be super sad to find this amazing source of entertainment only to realize that my favorite personalities had graduated already.

Also 🐇 is best girl.

I don't think the takeaway is to stop sharing information altogether, but rather to be mindful of not turning this thread into /jp/ 2.0.

There's been a noticeable influx of newfriends on this thread after holoEN debut that come here asking to be spoonfed dox or posting exclusively about v-tubers they personally dislike. If this continues this thread should be plagued.

Although this is in off-topic I think we should treat it like a general happenings thread or a lolcow early warning watch so we have background and context when a lolcow thread eventually gets made. Nobody here gives a shit which chuuba you personally like or dislike. If you post, it should be something that either applies to industry in general or be about some kind of happening. If you have a narrative, post it on /jp/ or provide some argument or evidence for it.

Here's a happening:

Virtunix, a Indonesian v-tuber "agency" has self destructed before launch after the founder Fox Cho cut ties, leaked confidential information and then ran with the money. Apparently Fox Cho had a history of being a opportunist who hired people to do translations for him to raise his profile. I think this guy is worth keeping an eye on if allegations are true.

top post:
Fox Cho had group chats to discuss anything casually, it's a friend group chat (it's quite large) and it has nothing to do with Virtunix or related. I and friend of my friend also part of them.

Regarding to this case, Fox Cho did some collateral damage and violation to the Virtunix itself according to some source and my inspection. These violation includes:

•Staff name and contact leak

•Virtunix Application member leak

•Audition video leak (This has proven as one of the audition member's unlisted video suddenly got more than 20 views)

•Future plan leak (this includes their own upcoming Live2D model)

•Inconsistencies in management

•Misuse on Fund handling

•etc.

These leaks were sent to few of his group chat and speculated for about 3-4 group chats. Regardless of the group chat status, a "company" information or data shall not be spread by any means. These group chats have a few members that aren't the part of the Virtunix itself.

For their funds, Fox Cho decided to convert it into his own funds (which should be illegal) and allocated for a member who are not part of the audition.

If anyone doesn't know what is Virtunix. It's basically a VTuber community created as subsidiary of Media Formasi, an Indonesian News/Infographic/Blog Media.

To Virtunix, I apologize to clarify of recent condition with help of some sources.

Thank you

You know what's worse than a hololive idol wannabe?

A YAGOO wannabe. No legit company would be announcing anything now of all times. A legitimate talent agency takes years of work just to get started. Anyone aspiring to accomplish this should follow the example of Gyari, but that would require lots of genuine talent and incredible work ethic.

I care, I like hearing different opinions and seeing people share clips they like.
