Allowed? No. Could probably get away with it? Yes. But it'd set back a LOT of relations, damage our standing on the international field with everybody, and is the last thing Trump is likely to do.

We have treaties in place along with the stationing of our military bases. Those allow US military bases to not be under the jurisdiction of German law. Another one of the benefits we have are extradition arrangements with Germany. Merkel is not going to risk the US packing up and leaving over some servers that shouldn’t be there in the first place, she isn’t stupid. We just need to file the paperwork and we can go grab whatever. Within reason, of course.

The obvious reality was anything but, and uncooperative civilians in their sphere of influence were seen as obstacles to be made examples of.

TLDR The Japs were niggers and their Empire in WW2 was everything negative anyone has ever said about the US today, but unequivocally true.

Even Asian languages with consonant endings still append -u, -eu or -o. As for the Japanese, sometimes they use their own words. 機関銃 ( kikanjuu) means machine gun for example.
Edit: They traded with the West for centuries before Perry. Some of their oldest loanwords are Portuguese.
