Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

I was browsing the Covid subreddit today and people were shitting on Poland and how they have done a terrible job ect. what these people don't relize is that the majority of polish people grew up under Communism or had friends/family who did.
Poland was socialist up until the late 80s/early 90s from what I can remember from my mother's coworkers (she worked with 2 individuals that fled the country during that period). It was eye opening to say the least

Thank you! I almost lost my job because I was against this mandatory masking from the start. I shared some rather funny anti mask sentiments in my social media. Some fucking Karen’s went autistic and tracked down my place of employment (in healthcare) and kept spamming my CEO demanding my firing because I had ‘dangerous’ opinions and since I work with frail sick people I am putting them at risk.
The thing is, I wear a mask when it’s required at work. I’m not an fkn asshole. But these Karen’s assume I tell my boss to go fk herself because I don’t agree.

It’s fucking insanity

Never ever ever reveal your place of employment on social media. I'm not a huge social media person but on the profiles I do have my listed job is at least five years out of date on purpose.

Lots of fuckin psychos out there trying to get people fired for wrongthink.

Parents, if you haven't had "the talk" with your kids about what information they should NOT be sharing with people outside the family I suggest you start yesterday. Also, homeschooling is legal in all 50 states.

Friggin-A man, at this point I'm ready to offer free curricula to anyone who wants to become a homeschooling parent. I'll start a thread here, I don't give a fuck.

It's teaching people they are responsible for grandma, and she bears no responsibility for herself.
And ironic considering how many people are told they don't have to be responsible for themselves or be held accountable to anyone or for anything.

Been going around pulling down all the covid scam related signs and posters that have been put up around my neighbourhood.
@The Skeptical Tomato X5 - What kind of scams are these posters promoting?

Hey kids, even the magical elves that come alive and move around playing tricks are able to spread the coof and kill grandma if they don't stay locked in their boxes and wear masks!
It's something to see people oblivious to what's going around them in the real world and freaking out over the possibility than an inanimate toy can spread COVID as if they were a real person. :story:

Dr Fauci said that Santa is immune to Covid, which I thought was a pretty cool thing since kids worry about stuff like that.
Given how many people think Fauci is the COVID expert, I wonder how many people will demand to know how that immunity works and whether ordinary people can get it too.

Multnomah Co. Commissioner travels to Hawaii as COVID-19 cases surge at home
I realize that people in, especially the leaders of, Multnomah County are used to doing whatever they want without consequence, but I'm still surprised. From what someone living there told me, Hawaii at one point had strict restrictions and the state actually discouraged people from flying in for vacations -- so much so that anyone landing in the airport was escorted someplace for a mandatory 2-week quarantine before they could do anything else. Still, the overall premise that those advocating people suffer at stay home while the officials imposing those orders do whatever they want remains valid. It's as if the latter doesn't realize that their own lack of urgency is why their constituents don't feel one either

I’m not saying you’re right, I’m just saying that it’s pretty fishy that cases were stable through October and then suddenly started “surging” the week after the election and nobody seems interested in the cause.
In addition to at least one state (Michigan) allowing voters to vote in person without masks, it wouldn't surprise me if the uptick is being spun to ensure Trump leaves office under the narrative that he did nothing to fight COVID and watched numbers skyrocket after he became a lame duck.

Never ever ever reveal your place of employment on social media. I'm not a huge social media person but on the profiles I do have my listed job is at least five years out of date on purpose.
And this is why some people are hesitant to -- or refuse to -- post career information on social media if they don't have to.

If the traffic cops give you all tickets while ignoring the "rulebreakers" all over the place, it's time to seriously reconsider whose side you're on. I'm not totally surprised to see this in Canada (even though Canada is gay), because in the US the cops really don't give a shit. Speaking of not giving a shit, the paramedics, nurses/doctors, and even lawyers don't seem to care either. Obviously there will be some variation here, but I've had nothing but consistent experiences with all of these groups in the past 6 months. Just because your administrator said you have to wear a mask at work doesn't mean you're in favor of the policy.
I went into the hospital ~4 weeks ago to have some imaging done. I didn't wear a mask. I expected to be asked to wear one and given one on arrival and to reluctantly comply, but this never happened. I just parked my truck in the parkade, then wandered up in through the hospital and farted around until I found the place I was supposed to be. Checked in, got the scan done, etc. At no point was I ever asked to wear a mask or why I wasn't wearing one. This is in Canada, too. Granted, this was before mandatory public masking in my province, but I still would've thought the supposedly overrun hospitals would've insisted on masking. I don't think most normies care about masking, and those that 'mask up' do so because they believe it's expected of them. If you're at work and your boss is a militant pro-masker, though, it can complicate things for you...

It was dumb in my part for sure. It was a valuable lesson learned.
It also just made me more determined to fight the tyranny, just anonymously

Piece of shit mayor in my city was caught dining with the other city council members the other day, as he implemented the fines for those who did not comply with the provinces next wave of lockdowns. Best of all, WE ARE GOING IN THE REEEEEED in the next couple of days! Yes, now we are going to be going back to the hysterical bullshit of April. Best of all, not even a month back at work, and I am already back off again... When I was thinking there was going to be a sense of normality to return, that has been gracefully impeded by the hysteria of retarded normies. Fan-fucking-tastic! Also it being Thanksgiving in the States soon, doesn't surprise me they took away Thanksgiving from you guys, us Canadians have went through that already, and they are already preparing us for Christmas to get stripped away. Hope all of my American friends have a good Thanksgiving, and don't let the government trample on your right to enjoy your friends and family.

Got an article that says minks are rising from the dead
I'm on mobile and my options are greyed out so: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...denmark-mink-rising-from-the-dead/6426378002/
The article left out how they originally died, no "butchered" or anything, just "minks rised from the ground with the strain"
Are they cruelly buried alive or something?
Edit: well, I'm a retard and lacking reading comprehension for the night. It was just gas bubbles rising their dead bodies above their very shallow graves (3 ft), not they somehow revived
Edit 2: holy shit, that title might be intentional after all. Worded like that to make people think minks are somehow reviving to put them back in the Wuflu panic because most people read headlines, but not the article itself

Well good job Denmark, you single handedly managed to start the great mink zombie apocalypse!

I wish I were rich,I'd offer a bounty to people catching politicians and twitter spergs breaking the Thanksgiving rules with good pics and videos. I imagine it'll happen anyway. My money is either on a New York politician or they'll catch Chicago's mayor dining at the muff cafe with something other than its wife

Someone is offering $500 for a photo of Tyrant Walz out of state over Thanksgiving.

Speaking of Walz, this happened yesterday. He has not published a public schedule in months and media is complicit in keeping his locations secret. This proves if he did grow some balls and publish his schedule, there would be vocal protestors everywhere he appears.

In other news, I found a regional grocery chain that does not confront anyone over masks. I felt normal for the first time in weeks, so they will earn my business going forward. A nurse in the family told me that they do not believe in asymptomatic transmission. I saw a study saying 60% of Americans do not believe governors have the right to restrict Thanksgiving and other private gatherings. Crazy it is not higher, but more people seem to be seeing through the lunacy.

Actually seconded.

I've family who HS and I was too, but, its in the UK a d we followed the curricula set by exam boards.

However, my family and us as kids, we were given non exam life skills stuff to learn by my gramps I'd be happy to list for anyone who would like suggestions.

Asymptomatic Transmission is 100% bullshit symptomatic latency is definitely a thing as is the case with a great many illnesses but being 100% asymptomatic nope they pulled it out of their ass.

I knew we'd see shit about elves and Santa wearing masks. Maybe I'm a bit romantic, but it really disgusts me. Let kids have a bit of magic without this bullshit. "Don't worry about it, Santa is immune to COVID" is one of the only things Fauci said I thought was coming from a good place.

Believe me, kids already know all this shit is going on, just give them a nice holiday where at least part of it is untouched by this crap.

More and more I am disturbed by the fact that some people seem to take glee in taking away the innocence of children. What is wrong with people?

My sister’s boyfriend’s grandad died of the coof. He had heart problems, went to the hospital for that, then caught the coof at the hospital and the combination of the two did him in.

I think my parents want to celebrate Christmas properly but I overheard them stressing out about how there’ll be more cars parked outside than the government-mandated maximum amount of 3 households. They genuinely seem to think the police are ready to leap out of the bushes any second to ask if they have a loisence for their wholesome Christmas gathering. Then again, I live in England so anything is possible I suppose. Perhaps they’re scared someone on my Nan’s street is a snitch or something...

I feel sorry for one of my sister’s friends who is at university. One of his flatmates tested positive and even though everyone isolated themselves and all the other people including him tested negative, his parents are such hypochondriacs that they aren’t letting him come home for Christmas, so he’s gonna be stuck in his room alone all day.
