Kamala Khan's fine as a character, vol. 1 of her book was enjoyable. I actually liked it more than Bendis' original Miles Morales stuff (though, admittedly, by then watching paint dry would probably have been more fun than reading more of Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man book, with or without Miles). That was back in 2014, though, when there was a small amount of sanity left in Marvel. Now, though, we got shit like America Chavez and Ironheart; now most female (and non white guy characters in general) are written intolerably.

Accurate.

But then the rest of it I'm disregarding because in and of itself shows that "diversity" wasn't the problem, shit writing was, since they had a "diverse" film and now game that are both doing well because the people working on them actually give a shit about quality. That, not the addition of darkies, is the problem.

Kamala sucks cause she fucking sucks, not cause she's brown.

What about 3?

3 is a bit too grindy but still leagues better than Square Enix Avengers.

Kamala may have had something to do with it but I think it's more due to the fact that it's a live service game - and not only that, but a bad live service game.

People are just getting tired of this shit, broken unfinished games being released with the live service excuse being used as a shield for criticism. Most people just roll their eyes when something is announced as being a live service these days, and it seems like everything except for a VERY select few, like Destiny and Warframe, fall flat on their faces immediately (probably because they were some of the very first types of these games released). A lot of people would rather just have a compact single player experience, which is probably Spider-Man PS4 and Miles Morales did so well.

And I suspect that upcoming Suicide Squad game will likely suffer the same fate - unless it's actually legitimately good, which I sort of doubt.

Black characters in video games hasn't been a problem until the past decade or so, when developers shifted their attention towards the opinions of loud-mouthed assholes who see racism whenever they shit into a clean toilet bowl.

Nobody cared that the DARPA chief or the General of the US Detachment in MGS games were black, or Sam Fisher's handler, or Sergeant Johnson in Halo, etc. It was when shit happened like whiny faggots getting news articles complaining that a game set in Mediaeval Europe wasn't going to be knee-deep in black people, or seeing the rot in the comics industry where all reason was abandoned to make as many preachy and unlikeable PoCs as possible. This has also had the negative effect where inclusions of PoCs that otherwise would have occurred naturally are often seen as disingenuous or the result of manipulation.

I don't like Kamala personally, and I don't think making an Avengers game where she is center stage was particularly smart either. They didn't play to their strengths and suffered because of it - if the story had revolved around playing black Nick Fury and trying to get the gang back together, nobody would've bat an eyelid.

By this logic that Miles Morales game should be a catastrophic disaster then huh.

Or did actually being in a playable state and more entertaining use of ten hours probably play more of a factor into it.

Those anti-SJWs are just as bad as SJWs, guise!!!!111 And really, why can't you just use their preferred pronouns, why go to all the trouble to be a dick?

The problem with Kamala Khan isn't that she's a Paki, it's that she's an Elastagirl. Tell me did anyone ever dream of being Mr. Fantastic? Did anyone ever dress up as Mr. Fantastic for Halloween or see any other kids do so?

The answer I'm certain is NO. Because every (man)child can easily imagine how cool it is to be Batman, Spider-Man, or Wolverine. What would it be like to have Superhuman Elasticity? It would be fucking disgusting, the sight of you stretching your limbs out like a Flex Armstrong would make people ill.

Now that most certainly isn't to say there isn't value in characters like Mr. Fantastic, Plasticman, or Mrs. Incredible. But they only work within the confines of a cartoony universe which is fully divorced from the confines of any reality.

Don't tell me I'm the only one who sees Kamala Khan in this game with her realistically detailed wrinkled finger lines and doesn't think it's innately gross. And it just looks stupid too. And believe me I'll be saying the same thing if the Marvel Cinematic Universe is dumb enough to bring out Mr. Fantastic onto the live action screen after 3 mediocre attempts to make the character work in live action.

I wonder if having you create your own character and choose a powerset would have worked better. Basically have your character become mute from the trauma of the initial event - cuts cost on voice actors and adds to the severity of the event - and that the character basically gets roped along because The Avengers offer them protection from some big bad that wants to understand how they attained their powers. Which is usually something AIM likes to do if I remember right. Just have it that AIM is going around collecting everybody that got powers under government contracts from the world over. Maybe even have Magneto hunting them because they aren't pure mutants or something and sees them as a mockery of the mutant plight.

Or something, I dunno. The game was shit, but I feel like Kamala hurt it constantly with her chatter boxing. Each line delivered was money that could have been put elsewhere and/or money not spent that would relax Square Enix into giving it proper development time.

watched Kate Bishop trailer, holy shit it's a cringefest! Also how the fuck this shit looks worse than Rise of the Tomb Raider?? I can't believe this is the same company that made soul reaver...

It's been a year since I trolled that dude and he is still at it with being a simp for these big companies, he still gets insanely upset at anyone who dares suggest that the left wing politics of these companies is alienating customers or resulting in worse products.

Miles Morales for the PS5 doesn't look as good as the PS4 Spider-Man honestly from what I've seen.

Thanks for the MATI by the by.

meanwhile people really like helen parr, you can certainly make the concept work. or it just means kamala khan should've been a milf, who knows.
I liked the first fanta4 movie, perfectly in line with an origin movie. bigger issue is that in never improved from that.

The fact that Kate Bishop is their first major DLC says a lot about how fucking out of touch everyone involved with this fucking game is.

Was she even mentioned in Agents of Shield or anything? Why would any normie give a fuck about her? Why would any comic book fan give a fuck about this bastardized version of her?

I get it's platform exclusive, but holy shit Spider-Man should be out by now so they could at least recoup some of the PS4 players.

War Machine is going to be DLC too. They're literally taking iron man's character model and editing the skin so he's black. It's a reskin of an already existing character and they're charging $20 for it.

This is like EA on crack levels of micro transaction greed.

Grindier and much less inspired then 1 or 2. Yes they somehow made a beat em up grindier. The story lacks the creativity of the first 2, where they didnt have movies to lay upon and leech from. The camera is hot ass, and it often feels like the game doesnt know what exactly it wants to be or what it wants to do with its characters.

Stick with 1 and 2. They had PC versions, which were shit and were delisted off of steam because activision is staffed with cunts. I'd recommend emulating the PS2 versions, at least the emulator has proper controller support.

Once again, "anti-X" party makes "x" far worse. See also anti-facists, anti-extremists, anti-sexists, ece.

Highly doubt it. The third X men game showed the glaring flaw with such an idea: if your character can have all these abilities you have to craft the story around a generic "superhero" character, the resulting story is usually far more bland then one built around a pre determined character and their power, see also the first x men legends game. And that game simply had 3 different powers, a choose your own would be even more generic.

The main issue with Avengers wont be fixed by different playable characters. The gameplay loop itself is boring, repetitive, and plagued by rushed half baked design with copy paste elements and generic bad guys. The game needs a full re-design to be fun.

It's a woman thing, Sana Amanat probably thought that it was "lol so random" and that her only character trait is that she's a fangirl (so a Mary Sue).
