General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

For someone with zero social skills she sure as shit isn't afraid of being sociable. I remember her talking about her life as Coco and mentioned that her sister would basically just barge into her apartment smelling like last night's bender and stink up her sheets while she was fairly low maintenance and pretty clean about everything.
This is just the default disposition for southron introverts. You socialize because it's been so ingrained into you that you do it even if you hate it and you maintain a meticulous living space because you're still afraid of your mom beating you even though you're in your mid-20s and live in a completely different hemisphere.

Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything...

Pekora has done online content creation before and probably did it because she saw an opportunity to work from home to a degree as well as to keep doing the kinds of things she likes doing. The only thing I know of her previous identity as 110 is her cosplay as Hestia and her pretty impressive rack.

Isn't rumoured that Kiara and Pekora know each other from work? Just like Peko and Miko?

also, you mean this one?

Like, is it fun to walk into a public space and randomly shit yourself in front of randos? Do you derive pleasure from getting mocked for being retarded? Is the endorphin rush of getting a bite on your hook worth being degraded?
I'd ask the same thing of the people who come into this thread (or onto this site in general) to shit themselves, but I'm pretty sure the answer is the same in all cases: autism.

Bugmen just seem to have the disadvantage of also being dumb as all fuck instead of being the weird, idiot savant kind of autismos.

But let's not waste too much time with off-topic posts in this off-topic subforum. Didn't Pekora headhunt Moona from Akukin Kensetsu? "You, all right?! I learned it by watching you!"

The Minecraft saga is literally an anime/proresu storyline at this point. So many doublecrosses, entire stables forming and disbanding, Aqua’s rebellion, Sora stalking everyone.

I wish someone with better Japanese skills than me had made a basic timeline. There’s a playlist of highlights from the old server on YT but I can’t find much with the new one.

Oshit, was that before or after they struck up their friendship?.

Or are you talking about the time Pekora wanted to test Moona’s loyalty and so she had her put down a sign declaring her allegiance, wherein Moona went so hard Pekora freaked out at how savage her employee was?

At the risk of sounding like a complete retard here, but I feel like the Western fans have been getting too "WHOLESOME 100" with major vtubers, I just kinda want to see them knocked down a peg. We see antis fail, we see bugmen fail, now I want to see the new normies fail and get their enthusiasm lowered in some way.

Idk why I'm still here tho, haven't really watched any of the large vtubers in a while and don't watch any in general except for the occasional Belmond/Nijisanji clip.

Then what does that make Lamy? Gen 5 in particular leans on her a lot but I don't think the others know Lamy well enough to rely on her on the same level as they do Mio. She's not the wine aunt, that's Calli.

There was Hololive animation where they had her avatar cook while a bunch of stupid shit was happening in the background, but the audio was ripped straight from one of her cooking streams, along with her photo on Twitter.

There have been a few times the girls have cooked stuff live and they tend to at least try and film it if they can; Haachama has her pink gloves as does Mel. Luna wanted to show her cooking, but she couldn't very easily so she would run back and forth from the kitchen to take photos of her work. It became sort of a joke to make her mad because people could hear her jogging in her slippers. Ame turned mashing yams into ASMR and then showed off her finished candied yam dish. That particular one was really funny since all the Europeans thought she was trying to copy Haachama cooking without realizing that Americans actually do bake yams with brown sugar, marshmallow and chicken stock
I think it's as you said, Lamy is the shoulder for 5th Gen, but since they're still fairly new, oldies aren't gonna go to her for advice, I'm sure they'd bring for Choco or Mio way before they'd talk to Lamy, they've known each other far longer.

I've never seen one of Mel's cooking streams, I kinda want to.

Letting someone know about a job opportunity isn't the same as getting them a job
Agreed. At least a few of the Holo girls have gotten jobs at the behest of other members, due to being friends beforehand. Miko and Pekora, as stated. Okayu and Korone (and they said they would only join Hololive as a package deal, which was granted to them). Also, Mio and Towa have known each other a good while too, there's pictures of them on Towa's roommate's Twitter going as far back as 2016. I know I've seen other examples too, but I can't think of exactly who they were.

But, yeah, wouldn't call it nepotism; it's just vouching for a friend. Nepotism would be if Yagoo granted his niece or someone else in his family a Gen 6 spot before any public auditions were even held, lol. That's the difference.

Moona is up to 280K, Pekora’s at 268K, and Kiara is at 529K. I’d say the latest Minecraft shenanigans have done them all some good, what with all the clips and art and such.

This is a bad opinion and you should feel bad for having it. There's enough suffering in the world without wanting people to have less of the good things in life, even if those things are as trivial as laughing at the silly doggo failing at a video game.

I think this is something Polka specifically mentioned. Korone had told her about the auditions for gen5 after upd8 dropped her (as Nobuhime) and obviously put in a good word for her, but that was more like "we'll keep an eye out for your friend's audition." Polka still had to go through the process but they were able to put more faith in her as a performer due to Korone's input.

I think the only person who actually skipped the audition process entirely was Miko, as YAGOO had scouted her specifically.

You don’t just sound like a complete retard, you are a complete retard. The normies already had their fail. Were you not around for the graduation of Mano Aloe? The bug arc is a direct continuation of the Aloe tragedy. People were saying that the Coco situation was the last straw and cancelled their memberships to the girls, after Cover failed to protect Mano Aloe from her harrassers. But it was exactly because we didn’t want Aloe 2.0 that the bugmen were unable to do any serious damage. There is victory only following bitter defeat.

I still think that without her graduation, EN and JP would have suffered more infighting and shitslinging, that there would be more resentment at Gura for reaching 1 Mil before either of her senpais. But at the same time, Aloe would still be with us. Honestly can’t say which timeline I’d prefer.

Addendum: I’ll never forgive Niji for what they did to my girl. So while I’m not going to watch Niji streams or stab anyone that says they’re a Niji fan (I’m not a fucking psycho) I WILL stay true to my chink roots in wishing NijiEN an interesting debut month. All the better if a major lolcow slips through their scouting department and directly or indirectly causes the implosion of the parent company.

It's kinda like the opposite of being on KF. Being an anti is being a tard trying to make fun and get a rise out of normal (and a bit less than normal) people rather than the other way around. A lot of them are also really rabid, especially the Japanese antis they turned a-logging into an artform. The Chinkboiz we were introduced to with the whole 'chaama and Coco Taiwan drama are similar. They are just as obsessed and rabid as your average Japanese anti, but they've got even less brains to back up their a-log efforts. Watching their harebrained schemes fall apart every single goddamn time is like watching Wile E. Coyote keep blowing himself up in the Roadrunner cartoon.
Compared to people like KF, jp and mainland antis are very wild and would go an extra mile just to mess with their target, sometimes going too close to criminal acts. Makes me think if their behaviour has something to do with the nature of their society and the nihilism and cynicism these kinds of high tech society has, since korean net also have this kind of behavior for their antis.
Ironically though, their behaviour is actually more inline with people on cancel culture or mob, instead of 4chan guys

See, people often forget, especially for newfag, that big VTubers are part of a COMPANY. That's why it's important to not only see the "act", or the characters on the stream, but also the "backstage" or the behind the scene things, the business and corporate side.
Treat these girls like a group of pro wrestler and YAGOO as a good version of Vince McMahon, and only see them as "actual" anime girls when the curtain is up and they begin their stream

Most jobs are like this and I'd think it's weird if they didn't do this.

Anyone know about info for Moona's roommate identity?
My friend out of the blue dumping me a list of links to her roommate. But since she's been a toxic simp very recently, I have my skepticism. I need some info to cross-check the list

Coco's recent break made the japanese news. The article is basically rehashed what we know so far basically, with the note that the break this time was her personal decision and not cover's. Anti bugmen sentiment is brewing in the comment, with some disappointment in how cover handled the situation sprinkled in.

All I know is that she used to go by @Nachikoyuuki on twitter and soundcloud, she nuked everything a while ago tho.
