I have barely listened to a minute of him with that Manga-Chan girl, but even from a small sample I felt there was something deeply creepy about the way he was cajoling her into saying he was a good boss, and a nice guy and so on.

I was looking over your campaign Again. Not only do you need a pitch video(90 seconds at the most) but, you need better perks. Few people will sign up for a perk that has multiple copies of the same comic, especially if they aren’t variant covers. Also, you can go throw in perks that have cool McGuffins like bookmarks, stickers and shit. I know you are on a micro budget but, a lot of your audience has been buying indie books like this for years and have come to expect these extras. Especially, for a black and and white comic that doesn’t seem to have any gray tone shading.

Also the pitch video is a much better marketing tool than a simple pic of the cover.

Zack has actually been making steady money with his campaigns that he barely advertises for. These most recent campaigns each hit at at least 50 thousand dollars and they were just 24 page floppies. Impossible Stars made 106 thousand and these books were just based on ideas just floating around in his head and aren’t even part of his main brand. Granted he pretty much killed off all interest in Jawbreakers at the moment unless he does a truly kickass reboot. But the point is, Zack has enough goodwill in the CG community that he is always going to be making money with anything he puts out there.

His problem is that he let his brand get stagnant and has been overshadowed by other CGers.


As for Nasser, well I guess future young creators can see his story as a parable of what not to do when you are starting out in your career. I still think he is young enough that can recover from his mistakes if he can rebrand himself and come out with a product that‘s actually good.

I think he might have mentioned it once. I don’t think he really gave a damn about the book with Expendables being a dead property, when you compare it to Keanu‘s campaign and advertising boost it got from USA Today.

Nasser also needs to learn how to promote instead of just nagging people every 5 min. Maybe talk about the story not just his comics but his books. I don’t know what any of them are about except he’s into horror. I don’t read horror or Stephen king but I can say what most of his books are about.
Let’s take it and we know it’s about a thing that looks like a clown killing kids, the shining is about a family that go to a hotel and something processes the dad, the one I read the stand I knew what it was about just by the description and it makes me think of what’s going on right with Covid.
My point is use the story to interest people. Instead of buy my books please buy my books every 5 mins. Show some personality you will sell more.

Nasser's situation will take time.

2019's nonstop drama, gay ops, War Campaign's influence, and fighting will take a while to heal. I've already said that it's way too soon for Nasser to release an IGG campaign. He needs to rebuild trust with ComicsGate, but I think it will happen. I can't flip a switch and change everyone's mind instantly. I can slowly reintroduce Nasser and leave it to him to win people over. Or not.

This current book is not his best effort. That's my opinion. I wish I could enthuse over it, but it just isn't as appealing at TRIXIE CAIN with that Malin cover, or Stardust. I could have sold the fuck out of that zombie book that didn't fund. That looked great.

Still, this current project is funded. I think it'll get to $4000 or $5000. Nasser needs to publish it and get it to the backers, and then try again, while working hard to overhaul his image. I will help.

Doug flatters the people he wants to manipulate. He tells them they have "backbone" and "a core" when they do what he wants them to do. He offers people free original artwork, and the illusion of sharing whatever clout he has.

CYBERFROG UNFROGETTABLE TALES is completely fulfilled now.

CYBERFROG 2: REKT PLANET is scheduled for a May release, with PVC toys being a major factor of the campaign. It's a HUGE campaign. The book is half finished, but you'd like me to wait until 11,000 large packages ship before I begin funding the next project? Fulfillment is going to take months.

WARTS AND ALL is already finished funding, and is ready to print. That campaign will likely begin shipping in February or March.

REIGNBOW THE BRUTE can begin funding now for a release date of December of 2021. It'll be a much simpler campaign, all published, printed products.

I'm also publishing SNOWMAN and CREED in 2021.

If I wait until a campaign is completely fulfilled before launching another one, you'll get one book every 12-18 months. If I stack them, while hiring lots of help, I can get 3-4 projects out per year.

The money sits in a business account that is watched over by a CPA. It's not a matter of grabbing cash. It's about trying to build momentum and grow ALL CAPS COMICS in a slow and steady way.
