Black Rifle Coffee Company Official Statement (Archive)

The veteran-owned coffee company Black Rifle Coffee has been accused by conservatives of “caving to the cancel culture mob” because of how it handled criticism pertaining to alleged Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse.
After being bailed out of jail this past Friday, Rittenhouse posed for a photo while wearing a Black Rifle Coffee Company-emblazoned t-shirt.
As the photo went viral on Twitter, outrage and hatred emerged from left-wing zealots who believe without evidence that Rittenhouse is an unrepentant murderer.
One of the conservatives who shared the photo, non-establishment journalist Elijah Schaffer, reportedly included a discount code for Black Rifle Coffee in his tweet. This led to accusations that the company was sponsoring an alleged “murderer.”
The evidence in the case in fact strongly hints at Rittenhouse having been an innocent teen who’d fired in self-defense after being violently attacked by left-wing extremists.
Look at a copy of the viral photo and some of the backlash beneath it:

The backlash, of which there’s far more than just the few tweets above, seemed to originate entirely with members of the left, i.e., the very types of people not prone to purchase Black Rifle Coffee’s products in the first place.
Launched in 2014 by former members of the U.S. military, the company rose to national prominence in 2017 after it responded to Starbucks’ pledge to hire 10,000 refugees by pledging to hire 10,000 veterans.
Since its elevation to the limelight, Black Rifle Coffee has exuded pure conservative values and has therefore been endorsed by conservatives such as Fox News host Sean Hannity.
After Black Rifle Coffee learned of the the viral photo and the accompanying allegations that it was sponsoring Rittenhouse, it issued a statement clarifying that it’s not sponsoring Rittenhouse and has no opinion on his legal proceedings.
We do not support legal advocacy efforts. We do not sponsor nor do we have a relationship with the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI,” the company said.
We believe in the integrity of the legal justice system, and support law enforcement officials. We’re grateful for the continued support of the Black Rifle Coffee community and eager to continue serving those who serve.”
But this only set off another round of outrage — this time from conservatives who felt as if the company had “caved” to the left-wing mob.

The company appears to be between a rock and a hard place.
On one hand, it doesn’t want to involve itself in the legal matters of a young man who faces a murder charge. But on the other hand, it doesn’t want to upset its base of conservative fans who believe that young man had acted in self-defense.
It’s not clear how the company will proceed. What’s known is that the narrative about Rittenhouse that’s been peddled by the mainstream media is 100 percent false, as demonstrated by video footage recorded before and during the shootings.
One video from before the shootings shows Rittenhouse explaining why he’d come to Kenosha.
“So people are getting injured. And our job is to protect this business. And part of my job is also to help people. If somebody’s hurt, I’m running into harm’s way. That’s why I have my rifle, because I can protect myself obviously. But I also have my med kit,” he said.
This footage fits with other known information about the teen: Prior to the shootings, for instance, he’d spent his day working as a community lifeguard and later cleaning graffiti from a local public high school.
Another video shows some of what happened during the first shooting, when, while being chased by now-deceased left-wing extremist, convicted child rapist and suspect arsonist Joseph Rosenbaum, Rittenhouse turned around and opened fire, killing him.

Black Rifle doesn’t believe in anything but making a profit. It’s not here to stand up for the 2nd Amendment or fight Antifa or whatever, it’s here to sell coffee to a certain demographic using right-wing cultural signifiers.

The endorsement of Rittenhouse was probably conceived as a marketing move to target that demographic (not a moral stand) but they had to walk it back once retailers, investors, etc. got antsy.
Look at CEO Evan Hafer’s political contributions, which include several pro-gun control candidates:

This guy is a pure opportunist, he probably laughs at the MAGA hat hicks who buy his beans.

I'm pretty sure they never endorsed him to begin with. If they really felt like saying nothing wasn't tenable, their statement could have been worded in a better way to placate their customer base. If they had emphasized that Rittenhouse is, like all defendants, innocent until proven guilty, that probably would have gone over better. Instead they just have some really weak statement about believing in "the integrity of the legal justice system"... way to read the room at a time when a significant amount of their customer base is rapidly losing faith in said system. They didn't even say Kyle Rittenhouse's name, only referring to him as "the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha". Pathetic.

'If we appease them while paying lip service to what we think conservatives want, maybe the hate mobs will devour us last.'

Fuck cuckservatives. Holding the line on a greased slope never gets you back to what yu actually liked, all it does is slow the descent. If there's one thing the left does have right, it's that they tolerate no compromise. It's about time the right does the same.

Black Rifle Coffee Company, a staple of conservative consumerism, has been exposed as yet another soulless grifting operation run by people with no serious attachment to the pro-2nd Amendment, patriotic stances they use to appeal to their audience.

On Saturday a drama unfolded between BRCC and The Blaze after reporter Elijah Schaffer, host of the network’s “Slightly Offens*ve” podcast, tweeted a picture of Kyle Rittenhouse wearing a BRCC shirt. Schaffer captioned the image “Kyle Rittenhouse drinks the best coffee in America” and put a discount code for the coffee under the tweet.

Rittenhouse is the 17-year-old who defended himself against anarchist rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during another round of “protesting” racism by burning down American cities in late August. Several videos show his attempts to flee anarchists on two separate occasions before being forced into self defense. All three men shot by Rittenhouse turned out to be violent criminals, one a pedophile.

Despite video evidence showing that he had obviously acted within his rights, Rittenhouse was charged with first degree murder and only released from jail a few days ago when his $2 million bail was raised with the help of My Pillow founder Mike Lindell and actor Ricky Schroder.

A spokesman for BRCC, which brands itself as a patriotic, pro-2A, pro-military, and pro-police coffee company with a tough, outdoors aesthetic, took offense at the association and initially stated that they would be ending their ad sponsorship of the podcast. She later clarified that this was not the case and the matter had been sorted out between the two parties. Schaffer’s tweet was deleted.

A statement on the company’s website attempts to qualify their disavowal by stating that they “do not support legal advocacy efforts” and have no relationship with Rittenhouse, whom they refer to as “the 17-year-old facing charges in Kenosha, WI” and do not even mention by name (though he is named in the video by Hafer).

BRCC’s attempt to remain aloof reeks even more when contrasted with a publicity stunt they pulled last year, when a Starbucks employee in Oklahoma wrote “Pig” on a police officer’s cup. BRCC founders Evan Hafer and Mat Best were able to make a show of their donation to the police department through Fox News, which was happy to promote their generosity.

Founder and CEO Evan Hafer recorded a video which is also posted on the company’s site. In it he states in his video that he has “zero interest in collecting one dollar” from the Rittenhouse “tragedy.” It is apparent that his real interest is in collecting millions of dollars from a conservative audience by an aesthetic appeal to being pro Second Amendment, but when a real case of institutional persecution against a citizen exercising his rights emerges, all of that clout and profit cannot be put on the line.

Hafer, who is Jewish, is former military, having served in the special forces and as a contractor with the CIA. A screenshot of his twitter shows that the account liked at least two comments attacking Rittenhouse, calling him a “larp warrior dweeb” and a “wannabe douchebag.” A recent review of his account found he appears to have unliked the comments.

Meanwhile, a twitter user dug up Hafer’s FEC receipts, which show that he donated to anti-gun Democratic politician Tulsi Gabbard in 2019. In 2008, “Evan Hafer” is also recorded as having donated to Obama for America. The Gabbard donation is clearly Hafer, as the employer is listed as “Black Rifle Coffee Company.” The Obama donation lists the occupation as “Advisor” for the Department of Defense, and it is not clear that this is the same person. It is worth noting, however, that either way, Hafer defended against the allegation not by saying that part of the record was someone else, but by calling it photoshop, which is impossible and anyone can check the website for themselves.

This saga reveals yet again that ‘conservatism’ is not an ideal, it’s a marketing brand, where both politicians and salesmen craft an aesthetic of rugged patriotism but have no intention of ever putting their comfortable careers on the line when an actual fight arises.

I see kyle's point of view and I sympathize with him, he was used by this fake conservative grift and abandoned the second there was negative press, betraying their image. The game was rigged from the start.

It's incredibly absurd that a company called Black Rifle Coffee Company that prides itself on 2A support would throw a dude who defended himself with a fucking black rifle under the bus. It really demonstrates that their conservative image is paper-thin when it comes to something that might actually cost them money or threaten the good status of their social media accounts.

Giving money to a ban 'em all nutbag like Tulsi Gabbard is pretty shocking to be honest.

It's an interesting story to see the background of the company exposed where other sources aren't talking about it.

I like Striker's work my dude, I have no plan on stop posting his articles, some of his pieces are really good.

Striker is a fine journalist but most of his work will never been seen or acknowledged because he can't stop autistically screeching about how the Jews are ruining the world.

sometimes i remove where he says jews or zionists just to make it less spergy for people, he is very over the top with it and it does hurt the journalism I fully agree

So you intentionally obfuscate what your sources say in order to make a point? How (((progressive))) of you.
no retard he just randomly says jews onto stuff people already know, i just don't wanna make people cringe and take it not seriously when he uses the word zionist over and over. Content is the same.
