You could definitely use a GPU if you were going to train some complex machine learning algorithms to detect voter fraud but let's be real here the person e-begging for this machine wouldn't know the first thing about any of that.It’s even better, GPUs aren’t going to do a god damn thing to speed up either Excel or an RDBMS because neither one uses floating point calculators to function. They use the CPU to do integer calculations. This is the reason you don’t load server racks up with RTX 3080s.
I’m sure theres some obscure database implementation that utilizes GPUs, but I guarantee that’s not what this moron was thinking of.
edit: upon further research, it does appear that GPU driven databases are becoming a thing, but not quite yet.
