Imagine you’re a lesbian, married to another lesbian. Now imagine that the lesbian you are married to is a Hollywood actress. Already, a bit of pressure but that’s what you know you signed up for.
Now imagine that your Hollywood actress wife comes out as a ‘man’. Maybe you’re accepting of it, maybe it’s all ok. But now, what if you try to leave? For any reason at all, you feel you want to leave. But you know that you will be branded as a transphobic bigot TERFbian the second you do, and you’re in Hollywood.
Like, bro, that’s a bit fucked up of a situation to find yourself in, and you didn’t sign up for that when you got into this relationship.

You're also kind of expected to go back in the closet and call yourself heterosexual in order to "validate" your wife's new identity, so you lose the support of LGBT groups (though they'll still support your wife who is now a brave and stunning trans man). A lot of "trans widows" feel left without support when their partners transition, whether it's a husband or wife.

Imagine going on puberty blockers at 16, then on testosterone and getting a mastectomy, all cheered on by the community - and then when you realise you suffered medical malpractice and you try to stop other kids suffering like you did, and want better health care and support services for dysphoric children, you get dropped by that same community and called "trans exclusionary" even after you had far more transitioning treatments than the guy saying it. The absolute gall of this man.
It's like religious crazies talking shit about apostates, even if they were in deeper and more devout than they are.
