Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

So...are we taking the vaccine or nah?
Nah. I already had the coof back in March, got over it, and assume I have some measure of immunity. While it was annoying, I never developed severe enough symptoms to worry about it (dry cough for almost a month; intermittent fever and fatigue).

I'm in my 50s, but healthy and of normal weight. I take my Vitamin D, as well as getting sun. I'm a self-employed hermit who has minimal contact with other humans, and none in vulnerable populations. And while I'm by no means an anti-vaxxer, I'm a bit leery of one that has been rushed to market.

I would have to be satisfied that it's totally safe, reasonably efficacious, and that there is a genuine need for me to get one that makes any potential risk worth it. So far none of those criteria have been met. But I'll reconsider if they ever are.

Short version : Lockdown restrictions doesn't apply to the Hollywood elite.
Funny, I was just watching an Of Herbs And Altars video from a couple weeks ago where the Kardashians throwing a party because they can was the topic.

Can we try to remember not to go after "the rich" for lame reasons? If your entire argument against the wealthy can be summed up by saying "They have something I don't and I hate them for that!" then please go sit down.

Hopefully that is how it shakes out, but with people talking about QR codes to verify status, it has me nervous. If they do try, I want to see what they say about health or religious refusals.

This is very normal.

The responses are somehow more pathetic.

I hate this crap. Hate it so much.
I don't know if it's just me, but this shit bothers me beyond just the morons who say shit like "Durr hurr it's me!" and "omg #relatable" and shit like that. It's that extra implication of the cover and of online "society" in general that I must relate. That this is normal.
It's not normal. It's not "cute" to be slovenly, and I'm not comfortable in a messy space. I don't see da pandemic as an excuse to get fat or lazy.

SHE LOOKS HAPPY!

She's living in filth, 3 wine bottles and an OPEN cereal box on the fridge, literal garbage everywhere, dirty dishes in the sink, prescription pills on the table, I could go on.

Keep in mind, this was not some random picture taken on the spur of the moment; it was DRAWN this way.

The only purpose of this picture is so feminists can scream when men tell them how messy it is. WOMEN ARE NOT YOUR MAIDS; HOUSE CLEANERS; WHATEVER.

They'll scream about "impossible standards for women", even though 99% of men in the world would at least pick shit up off the floor and wash the dishes if they thought any mainstream magazine would put a picture on their front cover.

It's actually less scary to think that this picture was created so that they could reeeee at the backlash than it is if they actually think this is a normal way to live.

Not only am I sick of this crazy coronapanic, I'm even sick of the coof being called a "pandemic" to begin with. When I think "pandemic", I think of the bubonic plague, a zombie-making virus, or some kind of mutated airborne anthrax. Calling the coof a "pandemic" may be like calling the common cold or flu a "pandemic". This crapshow has been politics and manipulation.

People not suffering adverse reactions t it.
Though frankly why we need a vaccine for a illness that kills mostly the old and the fatties and has a mortality rate of less than 1% is beyond me.
A treatment would make more logistical sense than vaccines. Easier to treat the 5-10% that end up hospitalized than expect the other 90% to get vaccinated before it mutates enough.

A single act of generosity led to COVID-19 fatally spreading through this New Jersey household

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. – It took only a single act of generosity to undo months of Sofia Burke’s caution on the job.

Sofia is a nurse. She took care of COVID-19 patients through the pandemic’s first wave in New Jersey. She inserted intravenous lines, pushed fluids, held some patients as they died and helped others to survive at the nursing home where she works.

Above all, she followed safety protocols – neither she nor any member of her family became sick.

But in November, COVID-19 spread into the Elmwood Park, New Jersey, home that Sofia shares with seven other family members. After Sofia’s mother gave a car ride to an elderly friend with a cough, she became infected. And from her, the infection spread.

By Thanksgiving, all eight members of Sofia’s household had become sick, all but the last testing positive for the coronavirus.

Her father died of the virus. Her mother, discharged after six days, still needs supplemental oxygen for the slightest exertion. Every other member of the family – Sofia’s brother, her husband, and her three children, ages 2, 6 and 20 – is recovering from or coping with the aftereffects of COVID-19.

And Sofia herself, who had been so careful for so long on the job, remains in the hospital with the virus.

Blah blah blah. I'm not archiving this or quoting the whole thing because the article is nothing new - pick a random family and tell their COVID tale.

What I care about is the title of the article. It's like they're actively trying to get us to be afraid of each other. Look, this family was generous AND NOW ALL OF THEIR LIVES ARE IN DANGER!!!!

I just need to say that this does not qualify as a pandemic in the dictionary definition. Deaths are way above normal and touch every place in the planet. At least that USED to be the definition but everything has been changed now to fit the narrative.

What I see is that in Canada anyway, it’s more of a long term care home crisis as that’s where 98% of the deaths are happening. This has nothing to do with Covid IMO. It’s just years and years of budget cuts and neglect coming home to roost.
Maybe initially everyone had reason to be worried, but 9 months in and Jesus Christ I’ve had sinus infections worse than this. It’s a nothing burger but these fuck head politicians are doubling down to cover up their huge overreaction and failures.

What dictionary definition are you using?

I can just smell the cat piss and gross woman stank in there looking at that drawing.

Let's be real, if that cover was from real life there would be cockroaches everywhere. You can't live in filth like that and avoid them.

Look, I know your money is disgusting and filthy, but I doubt it attracts cockroaches. As long as she licked out the crisp packet, I don't see what would attract them.

My county's sheriff who's refused to enforce lockdowns since May tested positive for the coof after developing (so far) mild flu symptoms. Mostly generic 'thoughts and prayers' posts in response but there's more than a few people all but saying 'this is what you get for not enforcing shutdowns and mask orders'. I wonder how many of them unironically call others bootlickers while practically begging for a government boot on their necks.
