Arkham Knight

Arkham Knight is killing me inside. I REAAAAAALLLY want to play this game... but then Warner Brothers decided to tack on a fucking $40 season pass onto the game.... and frankly I don't want to be spending $100 on a game I know in less that a year's time will have a Game of the Year edition cranked out and I can play all of that for like $50.

But yeah, waiting for that long is going to be a bitch.

So the Arkham Knight has gotta be Hush, right?
That's what I've been thinking. Or maybe Geoff Jonhs is being sincere when he says it's a new character. I'm all for Hush being Arkham Knight but even though Arkham Knight is apparently a 2edgy4me Batman, he still apparently shares some of his altruistic qualities wheras Hush is pretty much a sociopathic asshole who only cares about himself. Idk, I'll guess we'll know for sure when the game comes out. I'm just happy that it's probably not Jason. Now that would've been retarded.

At this point it can be anyone, hell Poison Ivy could've grown the Arkham Knight in a test tube like she did in House and Garden.

Oh God that episode is creepy.

I really hope the Arkham Knight is Talia who's just really pissed off that no one gave a shit that she was shot in the end.

Kinda hard to care when your daddy owns a magical lake that can bring everyone back to life. Even Batman himself realized this.

I kinda wish they would do more creepy plant stuff with Ivy in the comics and the games, she's mostly just seducing people in them :/ She has all this intellect and they reduce her to just being sex appeal with monster plants.
Yeah I like Ivy way more when she's a psychotic eco-terrorist killing CEOs and destroying government property rather than just 'ebil plant skank' like they usual make her.

I also just pre-ordered the ps4 version and I'm gonna have enough extra cash this month to get the season pass, so I'll post when I get it all and let you guys know if its worth it. I'm a Batman fan boy, so its gonna be worth it to me no matter what, but I totally understand how iffy the season pass thing can be.

Going by the past three Arkham games, there's going to be one or two major story-DLCs and a bunch of Challenge Mode and costume stuff. Depending on how into the latter are, you could probably save some money by picking up the story DLCs a la carte rather than through the season pass.

Yeah... yeah.... dammit. Okay, I'll be getting this game on Tuesday. But I'm gonna hold off on the Season Pass.

Ah Batman, I don't know how to quit you.

In Arkham City, Azrael makes a quick appearance and announces that "Gotham will burn." I kind of assumed he'd figure prominently in a future game.

I really want to see what they do with Harley. A revenge-obsessed Harley could be a fresh new take on the character.

If amazon doesn't fuck up (or the goddamn postal service doesn't quit their strike) I should be getting it tomorrow with my new PS4.
Loved Asylum but just couldn't get into Arkham City for some reason.

BTAS Poison Ivy is my all time favorite Ivy. While she was still fanservice, you can tell that the writers got really creative with her abilities and put a lot of effort into making her a genuine threat. She also had a lot of great dialogue, not just with Harley, but with most of the other villains too. I never been a fan of straight up vixen Ivy or straight up hysterical "MUH BABBIES" Ivy, and the Arkham games like using both of those interpretations. But I'm still gonna hold my judgement on how Knight handles her, considering I liked her exchange with Batman in one of the trailer "Over my dead body. I believe that was the idea" It reminded me on how she was in BTAS.

I'm kinda interested on how Harley is gonna be in Knight. She was batshit in Harley Quinn's Revenge but she seems more together in the Knight trailers.

I also read somewhere that Azrael is gonna be a major player in Knight.

I'm really curious about how this game will turn out. I loved all 3 of the Arkham games, but I don't want to spend 100 bucks to get what is considered the full package. The way they've handled bonus content was just a complete turn off for me. I guess I'll give it a pirate and buy if I like it

I don't think the bonus content from Arkham City or Asylum was worth shelling out extra for, mostly just extra skins and challenge maps. I kinda liked Harley Quinn's Revenge just because it was cool to see how Harley and Batman change after the events of Arkham City.

I've played about an hour of it so far and the Batmobile just seems like the most gimmicky, forced-in thing ever. Riddler's challenges are racetracks now and one of first missions has you powering up a satellite dish. Which is on a roof. Which you need the Batmobile to literally jumpstart. So you get a fancy gadget delivered by the Batwing that lets you pull the car onto the roof and you drive around a conveniently-car-sized series of roofs to get to the spot you need to be in and you basically jump start the dish.

I put in for a refund on Steam because the game runs like crap and I'm going to wait until I get my new graphics card later in the summer. Will also give me some time to see just how important the Batmobile is to the game play once you get out of the tutorializing in the first hour or two of every game. Might wait for it to go on deep sale if it's less of a gimmick and more of a core-gameplay thing.

If I remember correctly they rejected the use of the Batmobile in Asylum because it felt really unnecessary and detracted from the experience.

Which it does here. The car combat, too, is clunky and really un-Batmanlike.
