Trust me, I am a very new Dice fan and have only really listened to like 5 of her original songs. It's just that in other communities, people talk and I have learned to be a very good listener. I learned a lot about her just from keeping up with this thread here and taking that info to my other circles regarding her (not disclosing it's from here of course, just saying it's "word on the street" or similar phrasing) and people talk about her lyrics. I think it's just because she's my type of girl that I retain some knowledge about her...not that I wanna fuck her. I'd rather spend an evening with her talking about life as she downs cheap wine and I down even cheaper vodka.

Seems like for an indie there’s a fairly big investment into being a Vtuber. Have the art/model made, get the program for it, rig it properly, a good webcam/computer/internet...
Depends on how all in you wanna go. Obviously doing everything yourself is cost efficient, but you need to know a lot about several things to do that and do it well. If you wanna go the paid route, it is still variable.
Character sheet: 30 to 50. This is normally just about finding the right artist on twitter or something like fiverr. Plenty of people willing to draw your fucked up furry OC and I'm sure they could be convinced to draw a chuuba character concept sheet.
Model and rigging: HIGHLY variable depending on if you're getting 3D or live2D. Even some 3D models are pricey. For a decent live2D you're looking at 500. Higher end is over a grand. While i know Trash Taste content isn't looked favorably here, Connor actually did a bit of research and commissioned 3 vtuber models of varying pricing tiers and you can definitely see the money working for you. Even looking at some commission sheets it can get ridiculous. Valefor opened up 2 spots and is charging 2 grand for doing everything and including a few fancy gimmicks like his own model. I lucked out and found a guy on a fan discord willing to make me a 3D model on the cheap.
PC equipment: several thousand, assuming you don't already have a computer. I have yet to see how CPU intensive or memory hogging something like vseeface is, but there are plenty of free facial tracking software programs to at least get you started. Even a basic Facerig user license is only 20 bucks or something. At most you need a decent microphone and camera, like any streamer who wants to show their face.
