With more and more of the newbies being straight up superfans of previous gens, i'm beginning to think it would be a good idea that there was this unwritten rule that if you audition to Hololive, you have to at least be familiar with all the talents. After all, at some point, you're going to collab with them, especially if you can speak Japanese. I feel like being a fan already filters out a good chunk of the ones who are only in it for the clout (though there are those who are Hololive fans and also grifters at the same time)
I think the same can applied to Nijisanji, though there are so many talents that it's impossible to keep track of them all. At the very least, you have to be a fan of some of them too, i think.

Am I the only that cant click with nijisanji? I pretty much can at least watch anyone from hololive and it's mildly entertaining but I cant enjoy anyone from niji no matter who I try.

It's the same for me, I probably haven't tried hard enough though tbh, I like that it's easy to recognize and watch anyone from Hololive, if you don't have a Nijisanji in the title or description they might aswell be a random Indie since they are apparently so many of them.
I prefer the approach of Hololive, I hope they don't go into the territory of 100's of vtubers, then you get the mega low numbers and probably more frequent graduations because of it, I honestly try to support the less viewed Hololive already, Since Pekora probably doesn't need my $5 more than Luna or Roboco.
I would prefer they stop at a certain number and just replace the ones who end up graduating as some point, I don't think that's how it will go down though.

Not counting Hanamaki, Ebio and sometimes Tsukino Mito I pretty much just watch random compilations of 3D clips from Niji, it's definitely harder to get into with the sheer amount of streamers they have, it's pretty much guaranteed for there to be someone you enjoy in there though

The problem with Niji's approach is they're shotgunning it while hololive prefers a sniper shot in terms of recruitment and promotion. I'm not a big Niji fan but there are three I usually find somewhat entertaining: Lulu, Ange, and Hana. Lulu is very good at playing to the crowd and I'm pretty sure she is fully aware of how downright disturbing her model looks when staring straight ahead (a trait shared with both her "sisters"). Ange is just generally entertaining, and Hana is just a lovable gremlin...and watching literally anything where she has her dad with her, you can kinda see where she gets it. Dude's an early 40's buff author who spends way too much time online. Her Doom 2016 playthrough is definitely worth a watch, as is her Fall Guys session with him. For some reason they spend a stupidly long amount of time laughing at this duck.
My personal favorite moment from the Doom playthrough is when Hana's dad says she's into vore.

How reliable is lagcapa for information? From reading it a few months ago, I was under the impression that Haachama was in her mid 20s and straight up just lives in Australia, yet you guys talk about her like her being 16-18 ish makes more sense. Been lurking here since page 50-ish and I haven't really seen it mentioned at all

You're probably one of the rare case or not looking hard enough tbh. I, like most people, have someone I like from both company and indie, as well as some one I can't enjoy from everywhere as well.

In Indonesia it is kind of normal for people to be fluent in at least three language, since most people here are taught regional language/dialect AND Indonesian, with english gaining traction as a "must know" language. Hell, even Indonesian for a lot of people are "secondary language" instead of "primary language".
For cases like weebs, you can put Japanese as well, that or Korean for the more KPop-oriented people. It's only cases like Iofi where she can speak German is unusual, since language like German or French are not that widely taught here, even way more rarer than Arabic (for obvious reason). Usually I found people fluent in German or French in Indonesia are either middle-class rich kids or pretentious asshole, since you need dedicated class for those. Basically, if you saw or knew young 20s-early 30s Indonesian, the chances are high they can speak english or at least understand it, +another language they liked (especially in big cities)
Speaking of which, I was wrong with Anya and my guess of traditional culture content. Turns out she most likely doesn't dive too deeply into her kayfabe, and most likely will shoot it from now on. A lot of people in the Indonesian scene are now conflicted with her nakanohito, since people are unsure about whether or not she's the retired vtuber Mia Canasyna.
However, personally, I feel that her debut is a bit lackluster compared to Ollie. She doesn't really have any "unique" personality or charm. Ollie's constant scream, though irritating, still felt "unique" even if you compared it to Rushia's scream. That and I also found Anya's interest way to basic, with her anime and games choice tends to point that she is one "THOSE" weebs who worshipped MAL and the likes.
