MAGA types say he defended gun rights when he banned bump stocks, supported red flag laws, and likely would have gone much further in his second term.

If he'd told them to wear literal diapers on their faces, or masks that said 'CUCK MASK' underlined with a big black cock, they'd have done it.

Regarding bump stocks even the NRA was uneasy about defending them.For repub politicians the NRA is the unofficial standard when it comes to guns.If they seem uneasy about defending some type of firearm or accesory then that can be cut.
