Why does Tumblr have an obsession with vitiligo?

You had some people say Bayonetta is problematic because of said high heels. Same went for Samus. As much as how logic could be on their side, Bayonetta has something like magic and Samus is using advanced technology (along with having some alien DNA). Those can render some logic moot.

Actually those explanations work out well enough, despite that IRL wearing High heels to fight - not such a good idea... But look who we're talking about here and how well they take it.

Anyone remember how some people complained of the designs in Dragon's Crown? A tumblr post took a jab at that whining along with a jab at how people redesign boobplate. It mentions how more protection can still be bad (when considering not just how some parts can still be improper but also what is another line of defense, the weapon of the armored person)

The whining burns me a little, no matter how well presented he does aim to make his argument, unfortunately.....

Whining or not, it is taking a jab at those that think the Sorceress and Amazon are nothing but sexualization that sets women back. And the whining about armor is something that does take a jab at redesigns that never bother to think of what can actually be practical, especially in light of weapons (that is something I like to see SJW's redesign. Full plate ain't much if your enemy can slip through the cracks, especially if the full plated warrior has an impractical weapon).

Who the fuck plays Bayonetta and complains about it being unrealistic
My guess is people who expect all the games they play to be very anal in being realistic. That or those that think something magical is impractical and shouldn't be used even if magic literally slaps logic right in the face.

There is a major extreme with "realism" and "practicality" with these guys. Even if the males in an army game aren't in full, heavy gear, it's bad if the females are not.

I would say Anita, but we all know she never actually played the game before naming her a 'fighting fuck toy'.

Fighting Fuck Toy seems to apply to any pretty female character with any kind of sexual appeal.

Isn't Bayonetta pretty badass though? She's a single mother who fights demons from hell and from what I remember she does it without any help from male characters. She's basically a feminist wet dream.
Yes, but she dresses in a way men could potentially find attractive, so therefore she's sexist. Character doesn't matter to these people, they just hate the idea of men finding female characters attractive.

I have seen SJW Bayonetta fans, or at least people that can say without a hint of irony or trolling that the Australian goverment is doing a good job to protect their citizens of the sexist evils of Atelier games while having an Bayonetta avatar.

I'm convinced the whole thing has grown from personal insecurity on the part of many wannabe "feminists". One of the arguments they present against so-called "sexual objectification" is that it makes women feel bad about their bodies (at least if the female characters in art have idealized, in-shape figures). Juxtapose that with the increasing popularity of fat-acceptance ideology in feminist circles, and the picture I get is that they'd rather have "conventional beauty standards" rewritten to convenience them personally than get themselves in shape.

Unfortunately, with today's obesity pandemic, I don't think they are going away anytime soon.

If any man anywhere could potentially find your female character physically attractive or she has a personality that doesn't have her being a Strong Tumblr Approved Woman as her main character trait, she's shit to these people.

God help you if you want a shy female character.
For people who claim to want women's rights, they sure have a very narrow idea of what an "acceptable" woman is like.

I don't care about the whole 'tumblr nose' thing because it's a stylistic choice that I can usually ignore, whether on TV or on some cal arts dropouts blog. Seeing /co/ flip the fuck out over it is hilarious though.

Why do these redraws end up worse and lack any personality?

Because blogs like Escher girls (even though I like them) have absolutely no quality control on their blog so you've got insecure teenage girls and censorship brigades posting whatever they want no matter how low quality.

Everyone's favorite bounty hunter needs bulky armor.

The Peach one is the worst because God forbid a girl be feminine and cute. Also it shows more skin lolol

These weren't redesigns made to be 'better' than the originals, this article does what every other article does and just took shit down from peoples galleries and used them for their agenda. I believe the Samus one is from a woman who made the design because she wanted to try out what the ZS could look like as armor, not that she wanted Nintenddy to actually change her design.

That's the saddest part about all this shit, yeah you could make your own characters but redesigning existing characters is fun! It's also pretty good practice.

This was supposed to be a redesign of The Amazon from Dragon's Crown that made at least one dude on /v/ super salty.

This the character in question? At first I thought they were suppose to look like riding boots but they're a bit tall; either way, it's not like she's wearing stripper boots.*

*Although the International Council of the Patriarchs says that would be an improvement.:ween:
I honestly have no issue with the boots, those aren't even high as far as heels go. I could see the open shirt as being a bit wtf, but this isn't exactly unexpected and still way classier than some other designs. It's easier to overlook knowing what little I do of the lore being that whitchers tend to loss emotion and just not give a fuck and hell if I'd bother with buttons either in that position.
